Stella Lighting StellaSKY Floor Lamp, White

The light that this lamp provides is spectacular. I am using the lamp for needlepoint work and the various modes of light (white or yellow) are helpful. I have no complaints about the actual lighting function. I do, however, have some issues with the design. As stated by another reviewer, the function of the extendable arm leaves a lot to be desired. The option of raising and lowering the light is great for this product but they really missed on design. The cable that connects the base of the lamp to the upright pole and subsequently the part that can extend is coiled inside the upright pole. This makes RAISING the extendable arm a breeze but when you want to lower it... forget it. The coil inside the upright serves as a stop inside the pole so the extending arm doesn't go down. After dissecting the entire lamp, we figured out that to lower the arm, you have to twist and lower clockwise at the same time so you are simultaneously making the coiled wire inside the upright pole tight enough to prevent it from hitting the sides (which creates the blockage going down). Now that I know the trick, I will be fine but it took me a while to get there. The other thing that is irritating to me (but not a design flaw) is that the remote control for this lamp is on the same frequency as my TV remote so every time I turn the TV on, my light goes on. Every time I change the channel the lamp either goes on or off. ---- all that said, I plan to keep the lamp and I am sure I will get many good years of use out of it.

The lamp arrived as expected. The packaging was box inside a box inside a box. You would have thought the great packaging would have prevented scratches/dings to the lamp surface, which makes me think the dings were on the lamp before it was packed. For the price this is shoddy service. The lamp itself if very good - like being able to increase or decrease the light intensity is great. Being able to have different lighting options is helpful for reading and hand work. The extension to make the lamp taller is great. The extension pole looks like someone sprayed painted it before they made sure dust, dirt specks, were cleaned off the pole. Again, for the price I would have expected better finishing and no scratches.

I ordered this after reading several great reviews. The first problem came in trying to attach the base to the lamp. The cord that you have to pull out to connect to the base is spiral and does not go back into the lamp pole easily to allow the pole to be screwed to the base. the only way to control the lamp is by the remote control. The one I received was not magnetic as stated on the packaging and the battery door is not well secured on this one- I had to hold it in place to get the light to work. The light only worked one time. I could not get it to work again. I love the concept of the lights but this is too much money for an item that does not assemble easily and is for the remote to be sent broken and with out the magnets as stated.

I love, love, love this lamp. It looks cool and works well. The light is bright and produces little heat. I use it as a supplemental light at my cutting table (AKA dining room table) and for hand applique. There are 3 modes: 2 white LED modes and a "natural color" LED. Each mode had 5 intensity levels. I don't know what you would use the dimmer white mode for but the natural color mode is great when it's the middle of the night and you want to match colors. The remote control is magnetic and sticks to the shaft of the lamp, which makes it less likely to get lost (this is a good thing because there is no other way to turn the lamp on and off).

The light is OK and it's easy to operate. But for the money I think I could have bought more lights and had more light, which I need.

I was so excited to receive this lamp but that excitement quickly turned to frustration and anger. Such a poorly designed product. We never could get the pole to attach to the base. The threads inside the pole would not engage with the threads on the base. We tried everything. And the curly wire connector inside just complicated the matter. The remote control was so flimsy that the battery won’t stay in and the magnets too weak to keep it attached to pole. The light may be wonderful but I never got to find out!

The only 2 things I don't like as much as the light itself are the height of the lamp and not having a manual on/off switch. If it was 6 inches lower I would more thrilled with it. Love the lighting and the changes that can be made. I worry about losing the remote which won't fit on the pole if I have it as low as I can make it.

This item was obviously a return from someone else. It was scratched up and I could tell that it was from wear and not from shipping. It was very obvious that it had be hastily repackaged by another buyer who must have returned it. Disappointed greatly. Will be purchasing from a store where I can examine before buying. I have to pay postage to return a damaged item. I will not be buying from Amazon EVER again.
