DIMPLEX Coldwatcher Heater MPH500WW

I bought this heater after an earlier model finally gave up -- after 30 years! The new model is a neater version of the old, and I'm so pleased to have the replacement.

I had two of these heaters for over ten years and they gave no trouble until finally giving up the ghost. I have replaced them since and both have stopped working, one in just over a year and the other in eleven months. Actually far less because they are only in use in winter and colder spells in spring and autumn. They are excellent heaters but not if they are going to die in less than a year of use. Must say I'm extremely disappointed.

I have 2 of these in the loft, near water pipes and the cold water tank.Protected to at least -8, in what is a COLD loft.Switch it on, set the thermostat, and forget it.Peace of mind.

Very good heater, thermostatically controlled. I purchased the 500W heater which is used daily to heat underneath a reptile tank. Heater can stand vertically or horizontally.

I’ve had this heater for 6 or 7 years to heat a summerhouse which I used for art, it was to protect all the paints in the cold weather. It’s been faulty for a few months, not working then working. It’s now stopped altogether.Heaters of this type are simple so shouldn’t fail after such a short time, it’s basically an element and a thermostat. I have always thought of dimplex as being one of the best, obviously their standards have fallen.

My mum has had one for many years and it's still working fine so I bought one less than a year ago which stopped working after a only couple of months. It was replaced with no hassle but after not using it since the spring the second one now doesn't work either.

An excellent piece of kit for greenhouse or caravan storage purposes.

I have had these heaters for many years,then I bought 2 more a few months ago, One blew a fuse after a few days and the other works for a few minutes then stops. I'm very dissapointed, please tell me why the standard has fallen so much.
