Do not buy this lock, you will instantly regret the decision once you install it and use it im a matter of minutes
The lock hardly ever works when it was functional, after a few months of lots of inconsistencies the lock finally stopped working. I contacted Fridaylabs for support and quickly learned from their support staff that they would not be sending me a replacement because I bought the device through a third party on Amazon. I was told that I bought the lock illegally since the third party was not an approved vendor. I was somewhat shocked and asked for them to provide me with some kinda evidence that the lock was obtained illegally and was told that the nikcle satin is only available at at bestbuy, but yet Fridaylabs sells the same lock here on Amazon. I would recommend anyone and everyone to stay away from this lock as it barely ever works. The app is useless. If one or more person is on your account it will reek all havoc as the lock does not know what to do sometimes it would not respond and the only way to get the lock to work again was to reset it . The HomeKit functionality worked for about 5 minutes, then it kept complaining that I needed to allow access to the HomeKit and no matter how many times I did so, it never worked. I tried deleting the app resetting the phone and reinstalled the app but the HomeKit would not respond.The geo fencing with the assist lock never worked either.

Defective unit arrived packaged as new
Product arrived opened and it didn't work. I bought a new unused product from Amazon. It looked like this product however was already defective and simply shipped out to the next customer rather than being repaired and sold at a discount. I tried connecting it to make sure of its status and confirmed it wasn't working.I was really sad because the design was prefect.

SAVE YOUR MONEY AND YOUR AGGREVATION
i found it hard to believe that this many people would trash this product in their reviews until i bought and installed one for my self. it rarely functions as described and promoted. if you are installing it with an existing dead bolt setup, chances are the lock "tang" will be too short to effectively engage in the one adapter provided with the product. in addition, it has an unusually large "knob" that is tough to match to any normal lock hardware and decor. i have yet to be able to make the lock operate from a remote location (any location that is off my wifi network), even when every other smart home product is functional at that same time... i could possibly understand it is it were a cheap, third tier product, but they aren't price wise. do yourself a favor, avoid the frustration and aggravation and stay away from this product.

Do not buy this product
Don't buy this product why was well-designed appearance. It fails to function also tech support is a joke. They have no clue they have no phone call. While the August lock is more expensive. product actually works and they have great tech support. I am returning my lock in disgust. No stars given for the above reasons
