Impressive Entertainment
This is simply magnificent. Pairing Beth Hart and Joe Bonamassa with brilliant accompanists in front of an enthusiastic, receptive audience is a recipe for entertainment from the top drawer. Beth and Joe have a stage presence even before the music starts. Beth's versatility in song interpretation embraces all styles from blues to rock. Her vocals have impeccable enunciation, phrasing, control that combine power with sensitivity; those of an accomplished songstress, a conveyer of lyrics, melody and the message driving them. Joe Bonamassa is a master guitarist, a brilliant soloist whose interpretative rock, blues or whatsoever are never misplaced. Yes, he can dominate with his economical and expert solos, but he is also a subtle and sympathetic accompanist. Listen to his exquisite playing that introduces and backs Beth's 'Strange Fruit'. I can imagine Billie Holiday proudly performing this in such an atmosphere. Beth's interpretation and the whole arrangement of this anti-lynching song are outstanding with her heart-felt rendition.Similar emotions are stimulated by the encore songs 'I Love You More Than You'll Ever Know' and the Etta James classic 'I'd Rather Go Blind', a number that is heart-rending and is becoming one of Beth's signature numbers. This concert is outstanding from all aspects. The musicianship, variety of song-styles across eras with impeccable sound, visuals and production can only lead to an indispensable moment of triumphant entertainment. The additional bonus tracks reveal the hard work behind the final work of art and the respect and admiration mutually shared between the artists. This is an irresistible accomplished recording by consummate artists who deserve all the attention and recognition they can muster. There is more to come. Joe is established. Beth is a supreme talent whose boundaries know no end. Absolutely wonderful.

THIS REALLY IS A 'MUST HAVE' DVD
I have just watched this DVD and it is absolutely fantastic. Joe, one of the greatest guitarists going, keeps getting better and has rustled up a very tight band of brilliant musicians for this gig, including a horn section that can not be bettered. If you then add the best female rock singer that ever existed, namely Beth Hart, you have something very special to watch and experience. The concert DVD is claimed to go on for 114 minutes but actually lasts longer, at 120 minutes from the starting sequence, building up to the concert and finishing with two well deserved encores and a jam session. If you want to see what Beth Hart can do live, this is for you. No one else has been able to sing so naturally hard like that with such perfect timing, energy, and soul ( with the possible exception of Aretha Franklin in her early days) and hit every single note bang on perfectly for a whole concert. I was going to download the MP3 audio album too but it is too expensive at present. The DVD is much cheaper and you get more for your money 'cos you get to see the whole concert from your settee. There is a documentary DVD that comes with this package too,but I haven't viewed that yet. Maybe I will watch it on a Saturday evening, as there is nothing on the telly, then, that is worth watching anymore. If your a Beth Hart or Joe Bonamassa fan,or you love the magic created by both of them together, this is for you. Brilliant.Eamonn

As Close To Perfection As It Gets
If there's such a thing as perfection, this is itOnce again I find myself asking why this woman isn't a global superstar, selling out stadiums, and, (from an entirely selfish point of view) how lucky are we that it's still possible to buy tickets to see her in comparatively small venues and stand a few feet from her at the foot of the stage while she delivers her own songs with her own band?I caught this show at Hampton Court last year and was, of course, blown away. Beth is on stonking form, as always, that incomparable voice, kittenishly seductive one minute, raw with emotion the next, and always bang on the note. It's a dream backing band without a weakness. JoBo is content to play as sideman to Beth's starring role, but comes out to play enough magical solos to keep his own fans more than happy. The sound and picture match the quality of the music and are beyond reproach. What can I say? Buy it.

Stunning Collaboration
My admiration for Beth Hart and Joe Bonamassa knows no limit. Two stunning musical talents who are only interested in making top quality music and who are not the slightest bit interested in the cult of celebrity. If you're already a fan and don't have this, it is a must have. Backed by a small group of excellent musicians, notably the brilliant Anton Fig on drums, they work their way through a varied set of blues/jazz covers which they succeed in making their very own. Joe is the most successful blues/rock guitarist/vocalist on the planet but is happy to be seen as just a part of the backing band as Beth Hart unleashes the controlled power of her raspy voice on the viewer. This concert was part of a short tour in 2013 and the informative bonus feature takes you behind the scenes and endears you to the group of musicians involved. This collaboration is too good to never be repeated.

I reccomend this Blu-Ray easily 5 stars for me.
This Blu-Ray concert is excellent, I can't fault Joe Bonamassa guitar playing, the whole band sounds great, but I think it's Beth Hart who really sets this performance on fire, she has a terrific powerful bluesy voice, in the same vein as Janice Joplin, I liked this so much that I also brought the CD so that I could play it in the car. Joe Bonamassa and Beth Hart have made so far as I'm aware four CD's together including the Live in Amsterdam, and I have them all but it's great to see them performing live on stage, the picture and sound quality is really good, I reccomend this Blu-Ray easily 5 stars for me.
