If you haven't already guessed the Sonic Select series covers some of the harder to get parts of the Sonic comic's run. Or at least it DID. Many of the highlights of this series come from the content, most of it coming from miniseries' and special issues. Unfortunately there isn't much on offer this time and I personally blame the fact that most of the good stuff has already been reprinted.Like recent volumes of this series, this book has an overall theme; 'Control', specifically the good guys being controlled. The main stories are the following; 'This Enchantra Evening' which is a crossover with the early form of Archie's 'Sabrina the Teenage Witch'. This is notably the first time the crossover has been printed in it's entirety HOWEVER it is little more than a cheesy 90s hipster crossover, and it isn't considered canon.Next is 'Unburying the Hatchet' from Free Comic Book Day 200...7 I believe. This is essentially a fun romp in which Eggman manages to remotely control Sonic. It also acts as a prelude to The Eggman Empire arc and foreshadows Snively's eventual betrayal in the 'Revenge of the Iron Dominion' story (which is most likely going to be printed in Sonic Saga Volume 9-11).Following this is an old story (as in pre-Endgame) in which Snively manages to age Sonic rapidly. It's alright but very subpar to the rest of the book.Next is 'At All Costs'. This story is the immediate pre and post Worlds Collide story. Unfortunately it doesn't have the momentum that it should since most of the events before and between are in a separate series or not in paperback form at all. 'At All Cost Part 1' is the last story in the Pre-Super Genesis Wave universe. Sonic, Amy, Tails, Silver and the Artika Freedom Fighters head to the Death Egg II in a last ditch attempt to free a roboticized Sally and prevent Silver's future from happening. Then the power of lawsuits happen and the Genesis Wave is activated, bringing in Worlds Collide. The second half deals with Sonic and Tails awaking in a new world. This has also been reprinted in StH Vol 1.The last part is the full Sonic Comic Origins, which details the new origin stories of the Freedom Fighters. This has also been reprinted in StH Vol 2.All in all a decent(ish) entry but I imagine this will also be the last volume of this series. Half of it has already been reprinted in some form and the stuff that hasn't is a little...dull. The only thing of note really is the Sabrina crossover, which is cringey, and issue 247, which lacks the momentum it should have.

2 good stories out of 10.
The item was in good condition so the item itself is a 5 star, but not its stories. I probably won't have the space to discuss every story so I'll just list the good ones; Unburying the Hatchet from Sonic Free Comic Book Day 2007, Sonic Super Special 8's Running on Empty, There's 10 stories but 2 are actually good. And even then one is only average, being hampered by my confusion over the fact that Sonic can still talk despite Eggman being able to control his body. And of course while this idea is new, it quickly gets boring because all Sonic does to attack his friends is spindash, so it only takes a second for me to remember my biggest complaint about the writing. 10/2=5, so it could be worse.
