Great tool!
Swapping from the MHW with the magnetic base and the 0.4mm needles to this one. So far I am very happy with my purchase. The 0.23mm needles on the Normcore are so much more efficient at declumpling compared to the .4mm needles on the MHW. The thinner needles are also way easier to clean since they are so much more flexible. At first, the magnetic base on the MHW seemed like the superior choice, but once I got used to removing and returning the WDT to its base at an angle it all became became a seamless and mindless process. Lastly the build quality is a big plus. Oh, IT ONLY COMES WITH 16 NEEDLES ALTOGETHER!!!!!! Don't be fooled by the seller's description.

Great Quality Tool
My husband has enjoyed making his morning Americano with this little espresso distribution tool for a few months now. He says that it makes his expresso shots more consistent and it pulls out the flavor of the coffee beans better than before he started using it. I like that it comes with almost an entire set of extra needles to replace if you bent them by accident, but we haven't had to replace any yet. They look like acupuncture needles so it might be easy to find replacements if you run out. I am always really impressed by the design and quality of Normcore products and this is no different. The stand has a nice weight to it and the handle on the tool is a really nice deep brown wood color.

You must WDT your grounds
I am a big fan of Normcore and especially like what they made here with their take on the WDT tool. As you know, evenly distributing your grounds in your portafilter is a must for consistent espresso shots. You can use anything for WDT, including making your own by inserting acupuncture needles into a wine cork. This is a little bit nicer with a gorgeous American Walnut wooden handle, 9 0.23 mm needles, and a stable base with a non-slip surface. Since there is no cover or cap, you have immediate access to it when you need it, and it slots in nicely and easily when you're done. The only concern is making sure you store it in the base at all times since the needles are exposed and tend to bend easily.

WDT just works
This WDT tool is awesome. It is aesthetic and light. The stand to keep it stored and tucked away is perfect and it works well for a consistent WDT for your espresso. The only gripe I have about this specific one is the handle is really small but it's only in my hand for a short time! Otherwise, it's straightforward and easy to use for a decent cost. Plus, Normcore is a well-known brand with quality products!

Good WDT with a stand
This is a really elegant looking WDT tool, compact too, so it doesn’t take up much real estate on a small kitchen space which is what I needed. The WDT tool comes assembled, you just need to push the needles into the holes on the tool which is really easy and took just a minute. The tool itself is really well built, no issues with it coming apart or having any issues in the weeks that I have had it. The stand it comes with is nice and feels sturdy, has a non-slip base as well which is great. The WDT tool is actually magnetic too, so the top can stick to anything metal if that works for your setup instead of using the base. The only minor gripe I could have with this tool is the needles feel a bit cheap and flimsy, it could use a bit more firmness to be more effective, but overall it works well to break up clumps in espresso. Overall, for the current list price of $32.99 it is on the pricey side for a WDT tool, but you get a premium feel and look here which in my eyes is worth it.

Gorgeous and effective with seven extra needles.
First of all, this WDT tool is beautiful. It looks great resting on the stand in your coffee station. It's also very satisfying to hold and use as it's high quality and has the right amount of weight to it and feels really well made. The needles come in a bag and are super easy to slide in (took maybe 15 seconds to put all of them in) and it comes with extra needles as well in case any get bent. To be clear, it doesn't come with 16 extra needles, it comes with 16 needles total, 9 of which you put in the tool immediately and 7 of which extra. This tool works well and makes the espresso nice and fluffy and produced a better puck. I don't have a dosing collar but as long as I am careful the grounds don't fall out of the portafilter when using this. After use, I just rinse the WDT tool under running water and put it on the stand to dry. No complaints about this great WDT tool!

so cool!
This WDT tool looks awesome. The material finish is high quality and the holder for the handle is small and subtle enough. The only downfall is I get a ton of coffee grind powder on the table setup under because there is no bottom to this. A quick clean and it is all set though. If you have a coffee station setup with walnut, this is a great accent piece without taking away all the attention. I recommend it 100% for that coffee fanatic friend or family member of yours as a gift - or for yourself.

Helps break up clumps
I consider making espresso consistently and repeatably an art form. Recently, the weather in my area has been getting warmer, causing an increase in humidity, which has been affecting the stickiness of my coffee grounds, and ultimately affecting the consistency of my tamper presses. Using the Normcore WDT V2.1 tool has helped ensure my coffee grounds are evenly dispersed for proper compressing with my tamper. This tool consists of nine pins, 8 of which circle a central pin, attached to the anodized base of the wooden handle, and it comes with a metal stand. Inside the aluminum-threaded walnut top is a neodymium magnet held in place with a piece of foam. Additionally, I received seven extra pins, bringing the total to 16. Overall a well designed tool.
