Another heart-throbbing love story from G.A Hauser
The Farmer's Son is yet another tale of beginnings, learning to trust and to forgive, and exploring all the various forms love can take. Ayden is a twenty-two year old son in a family that has tended almond orchards for generations. He works hard at the farming, and even harder at trying to please a father who keeps his emotional distance, along with three brothers who treat him as a pariah. Ayden loves and hates his family. He cannot be what they want because his passion lies in the graphic arts. They know he draws. What they don't know is his sexual orientation.Wade is a successful environmental planner, forty years old, secure with his sexuality, an experienced man whose track record with the younger set has left him wary and convinced he will never find what he seeks. Wade has a younger brother in prison and his relationship with Cole is a constant source of friction and guilt. On a foggy night, fate brings the two men together and the attraction is palpable. Wade cannot believe his good fortune yet he hesitates because... well, the boy is so very young and a virgin and that makes him irresistible. Ayden falls hard for the older man and it's a no brainer when Wade extends an offer to have him come to L.A. and stay with him.Unfortunately Ayden's family is not exactly on board with that decision and their parting is less than amicable. Along the way Wade has questions and concerns about Ayden being corrupted by the WeHo gay culture, leaving him like all the rest. Ayden in turn wants to make his own way in the world. Each man takes those very tentative first steps in exploring what their relationship might be. Along the way, a really bad thing happens to the younger man and this reader clutched her bosom and moaned noooo! As with all G.A. Hauser's characters, you cannot help rooting for them: they are conflicted, insecure, sensitive, and absolutely, positively a match made in heaven. Both men have family issues that make life difficult and could stand in the way of their own happiness and future together. The author provides one realistic resolution on Wade's side, a little less so with Ayden's dysfunctional family, but by that point, I was so over-the-moon with Ayden and Wade I happily suspended disbelief. This is sigh worthy from the get-go: another great set of characters, intense scenes of affection, and another sterling love story that left me all mushy and happy inside (and once more I stayed up half the night reading it). There aren't too many authors that I have on my auto-buy list, G.A. Hauser is one of them. Her stories keep me enthralled and entertained. It doesn't get much better than that.

Hot gay romance
G. A. Hauser is a gifted writer. She knows how to write a story and make it work.Triggers: Fear of being assaulted, car stuck on lonely road, fog boundAll Wade Reed wanted to do was make it to his brother, Cole’s parole hearing at Corcoran State Prison. But the forty year old environmental planner from LA, never made it. With a bad navigation system and the infamous Tule fog, Wade ended up on a road to nowhere, his BMW stuck in the mud. His gas tank running low, no phone reception, Wade couldn’t think of a worse scenario.Until…headlights appeared through the gloom.Twenty-two year old Ayden Solomon worked with his three brothers and father on the almond orchard in the Great Central Valley. Ayden, being the youngest, and prettiest, was constantly the source of amusement for his brothers’ teasing and put up with it, but grew weary of the bullying. At night, when he was alone in his room, Ayden drew superhero comics, a dynamic duo who he imagined would save the world from bullies…bullies who attacked men like him. Gay men. After unsuccessfully trying to pull Wade’s car out of the ditch, and getting himself stuck as well, the two strangers spend the night in Ayden’s truck, keeping warm, talking, bonding, and sharing things with each other; personal things. Ayden and Wade, although had nothing in common, got to know each other on a very deep level in the eight hours they were sitting in the dense fog, alone and completely isolated. What had begun as a frustrating trip for Wade, had turned into a gay erotic fantasy with a young stud. But neither man could imagine what would come next, when the city slicker met…The Farmer’s Son

Read in one sitting - pure joy!
When I started this book last night, I had no idea it was going to grab me so quickly and force me to delay sleep until I'd completely gobbled it up. Wow. What a wonderful, engaging read! And it was my absolute favorite kind of story--one where the two protagonists are forced together for an extended period of time, sharing of themselves and bonding on multiple levels. I feel so spoiled by GA Hauser after spending the night with Ayden and Wade. Gosh, what gorgeous men, inside and out. Such a great pairing.Gotta say, though, Ayden is one of the most delicious literary confections I have come across in my recent romantic outings. Physically beautiful and commanding, yet so innocent and idealistic, vulnerable, playful, enthusiastic, loving and loyal. And I could go on and on. He's such a dream, I had no doubt that Wade would fall for him eventually even though Wade had such issues with trust.I enjoyed how the book started in Ayden's farming environment, but then switched to Wade's city digs. It was quite amusing to experience LA and West Hollywood through Ayden's eyes. And to share in his joy at being about to let his guard down and just be himself. The family drama also added just enough to the the mix to pull at my heart strings and may me worry for these two men.And the final scene was a gem. I smiled so big and felt so great reading it. Sometimes you just need the happiest and most hilarious of endings to cap off a winning read.Obviously a thumbs up from me!

CITY GENT MEETS COUNTRY BOY
A nice story very much in the 21st century. Wade, an LA environmental office is going to attend his brother's parole hearing, But bad weather and sat nav error gets his slinky BMW stuck in the mud in a remote dirt truck. On comes local farm boy Hayden with his 4x4 truck and tries to pull car out. He also gets stuck. Forced to spend the night in his truck with Wade they get orally intimate.Ayden's family are country folks and homophobic and Hayden decides to follow Wade to LA to get out of the farm, he is very good looking, intelligent but has no mobile phone and limited access to a PC.Once in LA he is like a boy in a toy shop and cannot believe the sights and sounds of the city plus the freedom to be himself.Ayden is good at drawing imaginary gay heroes and hopes someone will publish his sketches. With Wade's help he tries and finally gets some publisher interested to see his work but not before some dramatic arrest as his father reported his truck stolen and is handcuffed and taken to a cell in LA.Feelings of guilt overcome him and Wade who wants to see his brother in gaol, so they drive back to the farm with Wade's parents who offered to help break Ayden's parents homophobic attitude. It all gets very tense but finally thinks work out for everybody. There is humour and plenty of hot steamy sex and the virgin farm boy feels finally free and settles with Wade who is eighteen years older than he.Good plot overall.

Get off my land!!
I bought this for the title as it was just so....porny!! LOL I enjoyed it even thought it was completely unbelievable, Ayden's family, I thought at first were Amish, they were portrayed in such a puritanical light and then Wade was manic, swinging from loving and doting man to angry ranter; the character's personalities hadn't been thought through properly, as by the end of the book Ayden's family were happy clappy rainbow flag wavers and that was definitely bordering on the surreal. But saying all of that it wasn't a bad old read, and the sex.....just...well, it was quite good! Ayden couldn't keep it down LOL He was such a sweet character, full of joy and I think thats the thing I enjoyed most about it. Fun.

Corny Love Story - sweet, nice, everyone wins!
Don't be put off by the title. This is suposedly the story of a mature gay man on the way to his brother's prison for a hearing that he never makes. His driving leaves a lot to be desired but eventually lands him in the lap (literally) of a repressed younger man who wishes to escape from his homophobic brothers. Middle aged meets young, hung lad, they have sex in the car all night then run away together, boys family don't like it, cause problems, but come around in the end so everyone is happy. A sexy love story that could only be written by a woman who wishes her world was real!

The Farmers Son
This is a very good book and I couldn't put it down once I'd started reading it as I just wanted to see what the next chapter had to say,and I could visualise the story in my mind every little detail as if I was watching a film. This doesn't happen with many novels, but this one was one of those that did it to me as it's one to recommend everyone.I'd recommend this book to anyone who likes a good romance as I've aforementioned it's so hard to put down once you start to reading.

An Excellent Read
This is one of those rare books in this category where you get a very good story to go with all the sex. It shows what happens when fate brings too gay people together by accident and change their lives. It also shows how acceptance of people - gay and otherwise - of different cultures and brackgrounds can be changed just by accepting them as they are. Well worth the read.Would like to read more from this author if this is the standard of the writing. Buy and enjoy.
