It's cheaply made for the price
This product is from China so I didn't expect something stellar. One of the cat perches legs arrived broken upon arrival. I read reviews from a similar model from the same company and apparently other's had broken perches upon arrival as well so I'm thinking manufacturer's fault. Not sure if that was Amazon's fault or the seller's fault since it was packed in 3 different boxes. For what reason it was packed like that I have no idea but it was unnecessary. The instructions are inside on the bottom layer of the cage which when taken out by special maneuvering, tore into 4 pieces. Yes, I have no idea why anyone would put the instructions on the very bottom layer with the cage sides on top of it and the only way to assemble it from the outside is to take a wild guess. Usually people would put the instructions on the OUTSIDE. It took about an hour to assemble and you need 2 people to do it. One person cannot hold the sides of the cage up by themselves because not only is it heavy, it is constructed in a way that one person has to hold the sides up for the other person to get the other pieces to move outward. Lame! The cage itself is kind of cheaply made. The two doors handles are held together by the same cage wire and it unhinges on a spring. Nothing fancy there. The cage sits sturdy I suppose but if one had an aggressive cat that tried to claw it's way out I would bet the cage would collapse on itself because the hinges are not super secure. I would recommend some zip ties to make sure the hinges don't come apart. I keep my cat in there at night because she is feral and likes to claw and bite us while we sleep. The cat perches are pretty slim. My cat only weighs 10 lbs but she can only crouch on it and not lay on her side like she likes so I put a pillow bed on the bottom floor next to her litter box in case she wants to lay sideways. She can jump from perch to perch but if you have a heavier cat, I don't recommend this cage unless you build your own wider perches or the cat might fall off from miscalculation. I'd have paid maybe $60 tops for the material it's made out of and how flimsy it stands up on it's own. Keeping it because it serves it's purpose to make a large house for my cat to stay in. Too much trouble to ship it back. It weighs probably 70 lbs alone. Took two to lift up the stairs. The design is cute. It's very spacious and has enough for a feed tray, litter box, and bed on the bottom. My cat seems happy in it. I put fluffy blankets on the perches and clipped it down to the side. You can order a perch cover for them but I had spent so much money on this already. My blankets are softer and more cushioned any way. Felt like I paid an arm and a leg for this.

Pleasantly Surprised
I was pleasantly surprised with this cage. I needed something for my niece's chinchilla. Large "critter" cages are terribly expensive and super flimsy. This is rather heavy duty. We have containers of food and what not sitting on top and it's not hurting the cage at all. I LOVE the 2 huge doors for easy access for cleaning and petting our little friend. It's also nice that it folds down so small because when the time comes that we no longer need it for the chin, it can be stored away without taking up too much room. The only down side for me was that since I was using it for such a small critter, I had to add more shelves and perches. But since it's intended for cats I can't complain.
