RamProAES Industries Die Grinder Collet (Holds 1/8inches Arbors / Shanks)

I was tired of my chordless Dremel tool never having a charge or the charge never lasting for the job I needed it to do, so I purchased a Central Pneumatic grinder from my local Harbor Freight. To my great dissappointment, however, I discovered that the tool only worked with 1/4" shafts. I was concerned that my dozens of accessories for my Dremel with 1/8" shafts would become useless to me or that I would have to spend $$$ to replace them.I looked everywhere but could not find a solution when finally . . . Amazon to the rescue with this 1/8" collet! It fits perfectly in my grinder and is the same exact size, dimensions, style, etc. as my 1/4" that came with the tool.I would recommend this to anyone with a "generic" brand grinder. Before ordering, just unscrew the housing on your grinder to expose the existing collet. If it looks exactly like the one in the picture (other than the shaft size supported, of course) then you've got the right item.Happy Grinding!

my die grinder is a matco brand air tool, I wanted to be able to use a rotozip blade/bit in it for drywall, and not have to buy a specialty tool that sat around almost all year for nothing,was a little worried because some people say that it wouldn't fit in theirs, but this is the perfect design to fit in mine. Sure seems that these would all be standard, for true die grinders, wondering if the people that had problems, are they using battery operated ones, or something other than a standard die grinder?.. this fits my tool perfectly, just as well as the 1/4 collet that came with it, and is great!

I selected four stars instead of five only because there were some small burrs in between the leaves of the collet that I had to remove with a blade. The collets fit both my Campbell & Hausfield and an Ingersol Rand die grinders. They are good for me because I have some 1/8" shaft dremel compatable bits and burrs that are heavy and produce rapid material removal, which makes using the air tool nice.

It fits most of the die grinders I have, and I can now use my 1/8th inch bits w/o over working my Dremel. If you stall a air tool there is no harm. Stall an electric motor that uses brushes and you are likely to burn out an armature; I have killed two Dremels. This is cheap insurance and the air tools are stronger and more powerful consequently more suitable for taxing use.

Amazon description reads: "Fits Standard Die Grinders & Routers", and "Fits Routers also".Reading Amazon's info, implies that this collet would fit into a 1/4" collet, and then be able to insert 1/8" shank bits, and use in routers.Inaccurate info---this item DOES NOT FIT ROUTERS !!!I have 4 different routers, and neither of the routers accept this collet.NOTE: After receipt of this item, the OEM package denotes, ,"1/4" to 1/8" adaptor collect. Use on 1/4" dia grinders to covert to 1/8" usage".There's no reference that it fits routers.The OD of this collet measures 0.375", therefore it will not fit into a 1/4" collet on a router.Routers accept a different style collet.

Rapid response to my tool order. The tool appears to be of good quality and construction .The internal dimensions are correct and should fill my need for a tool of this type perfectly, especially considering the reasonable price.

I got this collet on time but the problem is that won't fit in the Makita trim router or in the Buffalo trim router. I decided to keep it because is possible that I buy a different router/trimmer in the near future and probably it will fit.
