My wife loved the book.

Thoroughly recommended to any new comer to the topic of witchcraft , necromancy and magic.The author presents the subject across different cultures and a wide timespan in an approachable but systematic and comprehensive manner.There is very little left out in her account as she regularly enlivens the text by mentioning the diverse opinions of experts, historians and anthropologists ,to provide an up to date sum up of academic research in a notoriously difficult subject.The book is beautifully illustrated and adds to the pleasure of reading what many would consider a dry subject.She has certainly succeeded in providing an excellent introduction without belittling or oversimplifying her subject.

Bought as a present but of course flicked through first! Very good. Covers wide range and provides good overview.

This is a good book, but it could do with being twice the size. The writing is tiny! I would still recommend this book, but you will almost certainly need a magnifying glass in order to read it.
