It should of come with the Scrusher Boot Cleaner as it was expensive enough, but both look durable.
This product is needed for using the Scrusher Boot Cleaner, but is sold separate, unless you have something to screw down the boot cleaner.

It works!
All you do is secure the mounting base to the Scrusher brush, step on the base with one foot, clean the shoe or boot on the opposite foot, then repeat by reversing the process. It's just that simple! Only thing is that it might not be very good for freshly polished Army boots, especially after you spent an hour polishing each boot.

Essential Part for the Scrusher
We originally ordered the Scrusher Boot Cleaner without ordering this base. That would work if you screwed it down to a wooden deck, but we are using it on concrete. The Scrusher is worthless without this base on concrete. Furthermore, the Scrusher rusts on the bottom where the concrete scratches the paint. After I ordered and received the base, it was easily installed with two included bolts. The base allows you to hold the Scrusher with one foot while cleaning the other. It also has protective caps on the feet, so that there is no metal contact with the concrete, and it does not get scratched and rust. This piece is absolutely essential if you plan to use your Scrusher on concrete.

Best Boot Cleaner Not Great
As far as boot cleaners go, this is the best I've found. I've recommended it to many friends.But even though it's the best I've found, it's not perfect. If you happen to be tromping through sandy soil, it will do a pretty good job, but if there's any clay in that soil you are still going to have to sit down with a knife and clean out every boot tread.

You need this
If you get a Scrusher boot brush station, you need a base for it. You can certainly screw it to a board. But if you don't want to put up with that fuss, make sure your Scrusher is one of the ones equipped with a base -- or you could get one after the fact, like I did. (grrr)

Does a superb job of holding the boot brush in place.
Boot brush is almost useless without the base. Does the job. My only complaint is that it is very difficult to attach it to the boot brush.

Sturdy steel base
Fits the Scrusher boot cleaner just fine. The steel base is sturdy, comes with mounting hardware and features rubber feet so that it will not mar hard surfaces. We bought two -- one for the barn and one for the house.
