I am a full time caricature artist and was looking to replace my wooden french easel which was bulky, heavy and a real pain to set up. My wooden easel has a complex screw tightening sytem that kept coming undone while I worked. A fellow caricature artist was using the compact metal tripod type and recommended it to me. Bought this model at Walmart for around $20. So I guess it is fine for the price I paid. Bought it as a backup in case my other metal tripod easel I ordered from Amazon fails me on a contract caricature gig. That would be a real issue I could not afford. I recommend having backup easels for anyone doing contract gigs, and production level work. No matter what brand of this style you get, the plastic clips for the leg extensions can break. So I am being very carefull with mine so I dont get stuck. All in all, this easel may work fine for someone doing small or light work if you are careful with the clips. But my drawing board is 24" tall and this easel is not designed well for something this big or bigger. The central beam will fit into a square holder for stablity, which it cannot do onlarger canvases. That makes the central beam which your drawing board rests on flimsy and unstable. It bends a little when you apply any amount of pressure. Also it takes a little finagling to get central beam into the slot for smaller work while still fitting the holder tray onto the two screws on both sides at once. So I gave this 3 stars instead of 2 since it is a lower priced easel.

Great product but get it for $18 at Walmart same thing , I used it for kids easel but for price it does a good job

It's very lightweight, yet has a good stability. Easy to use and saves space when it's not in use.

Easel was used for displaying large canvas photographs at family funeral. Ideal because they were light, compact and easy to assemble. The price of the easels was very reasonable too at a time when costs for a funeral were high .

Comes in a bag and easy to dismantle and put away. Very lightweight but sturdy enough as long as you aren't too heavy handed when painting. Great for me and perfect for being seated and painting.

I have purchased several aluminium easels over the years, and this is one of the best! They are lightweight and they need to be handled gently, but I prefer them when I paint in small spaces. I wouldn't use these outdoors, however others might disagree..
