Perfect project.
So much fun. It really works. Great project that took about 4 hours total. Mix of easy and more difficult assembly steps. Highly recommend for adult model and toy brick lovers.

Great Stem Product
The media could not be loaded. Purchased this as a birthday present for my 12 year old grandson. He had fun building this and had it completed in less than a week. Everything works awesome as you can see in the video he provided me. So interactive and has its own jack stands ! I highly recommend this. It’s a great stem product for a great price.

Great project!
Got this to build with my son who's into cars and engines. Took about 3-4 hours total to build. I was surprised by the overall size of it. Seems very accurate to a V8 engine, and was cool to watch all the pistons move and such. My only gripe is that if you had it on for a while (30-60 seconds) the crankshaft wasn't in a fixed position so it could move FORWARD and basically come off the belt (more like a chain) so the chain kept moving but the engine stops spinning. Easy enough to push back in but still the only reason I'm taking off a star.InstructionsSometimes these non-brand name ones have terrible instructions, you can't get a feel for the correct orientation etc but these were good. Felt kind of like doing Lego...or Ikea. Wasn't missing any pieces and all the bags were well labeled. Didn't have to spend time scratching our heads.QualityThe bricks felt solid, they snapped together well, totally legit. The power brick and cable and all that felt great as well. The power switch was a little hard to hit but worked fine.Suggestions1. Find a way to mount the battery and motor TO the engine...seems kind of silly to have the battery pack completely separate by a cable that just sits on the table.2. Would be awesome if there were videos or details in the instructions about the engine itself, how engines work, what each piece was (air filter, camshaft, piston, manifolds, timing belt, etc.) Not taking off stars for this but just think that would really help make this a special project to do with your child...or let them do on their own.Seems like this company has DOZENS of different projects and I would not hesitate to buy any of them. Sure, some are pricey, but many are over 1000 pieces...that's a solid investment of time for something that could be a fantastic piece on a shelf or great toy to play with.

Hope you know how an engine goes together!
I bought this kit for my husband, who has torn down and rebuilt more engines than I can count. The instructions with this kit are ridiculous. It's all pictures (poor ones) with arrows going every which way and no specifics about how to put the kit together. My hubby will muddle through and figure it out, but don't purchase this for a first-timer or someone who doesn't understand what the components of an engine are or how they are supposed to go together!

Super cool Lego/Technic-style building set
This engine block building set is great quality and came with all the necessary pieces. I did wish that the engine "hose" pieces came pre-cut to the needed size, but trimming them with scissors wasn't a big deal. The kit is a great value and decent size, and the instructions were easy to follow. I love that it comes with a battery-powered motor to make the pieces move realistically. The only thing I might change is giving the option to leave the cylinder heads supported open and out of the way so you can easily see the internal piston action. Otherwise, it looks basically like a functional engine and it was fun putting the set together and seeing how the pistons are connected and move in pairs.
