The five stars I gave are strictly for this company’s customer service. The gate comes with a 4 inch and a 12 inch extension that you can add onto the 29 inch gate. So you need a very specific opening size for this to work, and it would not fit my particular opening despite being within their advertised size range. It took a couple days to get ahold of customer service, but when I did they immediately sent me out a 6 inch and an additional 4 inch so that I could accomplish a 14 inch extension onto the 29 inch gate. They didn’t charge me for it. They were super friendly on the phone, and once I actually got ahold of them it was a breeze. The gate on the other hand is not a safe way to contain pets or children. It looks nice, it looks a lot more put together than the little wooden pressure mounted gates you can get for cheaper, but my cats and my 20 lb puppy pop the door on this open like it’s not there. And then my dogs get into the living room and destroy things and the puppy pees everywhere while I sleep. Even latched properly the door opens with minimal pressure against it. The door will be wide open with the latch still fully latched on the door. So it makes sense that in the instructions it says this is for six month old babies. If you have a toddler, definitely don’t use this somewhere that they might be able to push it open. Or if you have a big dog that you absolutely need to keep separated from company this will not safely do so. It’s also extremely wobbly even with the cups screwed into the wall, but I think that’s because I have three small extensions on it, it wobbles at the extensions. If you just use the 29 inch main gate or possibly just one extension I imagine it would wobble less. But I’m going back to my $15 wooden pressure mounted gate.

I bought this gate for my small dog to keep her away from the cat food and litter boxes. It has worked out great and it was easy to install. It looks nice and has protected the food and litter from my small dog. The height is fine for a small dog, but I cannot comment on how it would hold up to a much larger dog. The lock is very sturdy and is easy to use.

Works as advertised. Installed in minutes. The quality is strong, my baby can use it to pull to a stand and it does not shake. The pressure was enough that it mounted the the banister at the bottom of my stairs. My four year old can work it so she can go up and down as she pleases while my baby cannot climb unsupervised. The only thing I don't like is that sometimes I feel like I have to force it closed.

With 4 large dogs, being able to block off areas or separate dogs for medical recovery or feeding is essential. We needed something that was not obtrusive while still being sturdy enough for our wild pack. I also did not want to permanently attach anything to my walls or trim. I needed a system that could separate our kitchen from our family room. We didn't want to make anyone feel completely sequestered by having to close the wide French doors between the two rooms. We also wanted to be able to get a matching one for the other end of the kitchen leading into a hallway with a narrower egress. This gate checked all the boxes AND comes in two sizes. The gates are adjustable and can be expanded to fit the desired openings within their respective stated size ranges. I did buy some added protectors for the tension pads to keep them from maring the painted trim. I'm glad I did, as I have these installed pretty tightly. The latches are easy to use and sturdy. There is a little lock on them which kept the smart puppy from flipping up the latch. As some of the prettier wooden options would have looked nicer, I couldn't find any tall enough, easy enough to operate with full hands, and they looked to be more difficult to clean. Dust comes right off of these with a duster. Although they don't necessarily add to the decor in our house, they don't make it look tacky, either. These are sturdy, useful, easily removable, and they just seem to blend in. Buying two different sizes was a brilliant move on my part! Great value for the money!

It's marked for indoor use and needing to be screwed into the wall, we use outside and didn't screw caps in wall. We bought 3 gates and use them in the back porch to prevent the dogs from leaving the porch. We just tightened against the post, we didn't use the wall caps that need screwed in, it's still sturdy. There is a tiny bit of rust starting to show, but it's outside, so it's expected since it's not the intended use.

Looks nice. Clean powder coat finish.It took 5 minutes to assemble and put in place. The gate uses a pressure/friction fit between two walls. The add on extensions, like the inserts in a dinning room table, provided a decent fit for the two locations we needed gates. I was even able to use the upper and lower tensioners to hold the entire gate an inch off the floor.About the only thing I would recommend they add would be a fitting to allow pressing against the corner of a wall. We have one room where one wall is at a 45 degree angle to the other. If we decide to gate that area I will have to make an adapter of some kind.

The gate was super easy to set up. This is the 3rd gate of this brand/type that I've bought and they keep my puppy out of my kitchen and my bedroom. Absolutely worth the money spent.

Reason why I gave it a four star review is because the metal is bent a little so the door really doesn't line up well with the rest (the box was not damaged). The height is perfect east to install and use.
