My silent partner
I have had an Advent all-in-one desktop PC and a Toshiba laptop sharing an Epson Stylus Photo R220 Printer via my silent partner (as I called this switch from day one) for nearly three years now. You may like to look at the photos I have uploaded to see it with an average adult hand.My experience with gadget peripherals has, with a few exceptions, not been good. Most are histrionic alien little blighters screaming for food or other attention. I've had an insatiable mouse, one that went mad, another that insisted on crawling round the edge of my screen, a microphone that made ear-piercing screams whenever I went near it, cables that required inordinate strength to remove from sockets and others that just kept falling out, data sticks that fell apart, and so on and so on.Nothing like that with this little beauty. It is perfect in every possible way: robust sockets, never breaks down, silent and small enough to forget it's there (apart from when you press to switch, of course). You couldn't do better than this. Today I replaced the laptop with my Toshiba Libretto W100 and in no time at all it's happily printing away. So, no need for software; no complicated setup - just push your three cables in and you're in business.

No good for me
I bought this for the usual reason to share 1 K.B., Mouse, screen, web cam and a few external H.D.s across 2 pc's . . . All the externals were plugged into a powered USB hub and I just switched the hub by way of unplugging/plugging a USB cable coming from each of the pc's . . worked great but thought a switch would be even greater . . I plugged this bad boy in and at first things did look good, Screen, Mouse were fine . . but no K.B. detected, web cam not detected and mouse started jittering here and there . . fiddled around but no joy . . sometimes simple is better. . this Switch goes into the "Sounded like a good idea at the time" box. . . maybe I'll find a less demanding use for it in the future. 2 stars because it does function but not at a satisfactory level.

Maybe a one with the leads included would be a better bet if you haven't used this kind of thing ...
Did the job I wanted it to do, I was just lucky I ad the leads still from my previous USB switch. Maybe a one with the leads included would be a better bet if you haven't used this kind of thing before. But it does it's job and saves a lot of fiddling around when switching from computer my Desk Top PC to my laptop.

printer switcher
arrived 23 Nov, 10.15am. I only ordered them about mid-day on the 22nd Nov. It is just what I need to go between one laptop & a Desktop leading to share one printer, How brilliant is that , I have tried a lot of different leading electrical stores such as that chain of stores that sound like an Indian meal that we all have, a Vindaloo . I haven't tried these switchers out yet but will be trying them out tomorrow night. I just hope that they work as good as they are intended, Boy do I like Amazon stuff !!

Easy to fit
Easy to fit. Have connected both computers up to the switch (yes we're not wireless yet!) and can print from each computer as a simple button press allows you to switch over.

Good little item as wifi to printer was sometimes 'dropping' ...
bought 3m lead so switch sits next to one of our Macs rather than near the printer. Good little item as wifi to printer was sometimes 'dropping' so this is now resolved.

Works but with silly problem..
This is an excellent piece of kit, very useful, BUT for some unknown reason there were no feet of any kind, so i have to stick some rubber ones on to stop it skidding around the desk.

Great switch
This is designed to share one device with two PC’s. With an addition of a hub, I use it to connect my mouse, keyboard, and controller to two separate devices.it is a good quality switch at a reasonable price, and it works as expected. I have not noticed any problems with it.
