Light, not greasy and smells minty.
I have been using Dr. Groot scalp treatments for a few months and this Dr.groot Rosemary Mint Oil Tonic looked slightly different from the Scalp Revitalizing line I've grown used to so I figured I'd try it out. First of all, this seems to be more of a preventative and nourishing treatment to better your hair and scalp health and improve new growth. With rosemary oil, mint, hyaluronic acid, castor oil, centella asiatica leaf extract , and more, they can definitely work together to strengthen your hair, prevent breakage and overall have more moisturized hair. Not to mention the fact that it's sulfate free so it's generous on color-treated hair too!The formula is very light and the applicator is definitely appropriate but keep in mind, with water as the first ingredient, it's going to have a viscosity that is slightly thicker than water with all things combined. A few sprays to the scalp releases a light solution that's easy to massage in to help distribute the product all throughout. Thankfully I already have thick hair so I do wash it every 4-6 days, and this helps give my scalp the relief it needs. The scent is light on the rosemary, more minty and rather cooling on my itchy scalp between washes. On top of that, it doesn't leave my hair too greasy or irritated one bit. After more than a week of use, I've noticed a significant amount of volume in my hair and it my scalp is definitely a little bit happier.

Smells Good
I like this scalp treatment's smell, but I have not seen definitive results. I will keep using it and see if it changes.

Meh: coconut derivatives, a DROP of rosemary & peppermint oil, but other ingredients might work
ASIN: B0DM2KBG38 $19.90Dr.groot Rosemary Mint Oil Tonic for Hair Growth with Biotin, Hyaluronic Acid, Thickening & Scalp Nourishing. Korean Haircare. Sulfate-Free, Silicon-Free, Paraben-Free (3.38 fl oz/ 100ml)In products which do not include ingredient lists, my main concern is always allergens. I'm super allergic to coconut and palm and derivatives (full ingredients list below). This product contains the following coconut and palm derivatives:PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil – PEG40 is typically derived from palm oilCaprylic/Capric Triglyceride – Typically derived from coconut oil or palm kernel oil.Caprylyl Glycol – Commonly sourced from coconut or palm oil.Ethylhexylglycerin – Almost always derived from palm oil.Possible Coconut or Palm Derivatives:1,2-Hexanediol – Can be synthesized from palm oilGlycereth-26 – A glycerin-based ingredient that may be coconut or palm-derived.Disodium Phosphate / Sodium Phosphate – Often synthesized but may use palm-derived processing agents. It also contains the following potential allergens and/or irritating ingredients:Common Skin Sensitizers & Fragrances:Parfum/Fragrance, Limonene, Linalool, Citronellol, Geraniol, Citral, Hexyl Cinnamal, Coumarin...Menthol – Cooling agent that may cause irritation, redness, or sensitivity, especially for people with rosacea or sensitive skin.Potential Acne-Triggers or Irritants:Alcohol Denat. – Helps ingredients penetrate the skin but can be drying or irritating, for dry/sensitive skinPEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil – A (pore-clogging) ingredient for some people.Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride – Generally safe but can trigger breakouts in acne-prone skin.Potentially Allergenic Plant Extracts:Saccharomyces Ferment Filtrate, Bifida Ferment Lysate, Lactobacillus Ferment Lysate – Fermented extracts that may cause allergic reactions in sensitive individuals.Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil – Soy allergy concern.Centella Asiatica Leaf Extract – Generally soothing, but people can be allergicActive Ingredients with Effects on Skin:Niacinamide – Brightening and anti-inflammatory, but can cause flushingRetinol – Anti-aging but can cause peeling, redness, and sensitivity, especially if used with exfoliants or without sun protection.Escin – Found in horse chestnut extract, can improve circulation but may cause irritation in sensitive skin.Ingredients:Water/Eau, Alcohol Denat., Diethoxyethyl Succinate, Dipropylene Glycol, Niacinamide, Panthenol, Adenosine, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Parfum/Fragrance, Escin, Menthol, Gluconolactone, Climbazole, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Sodium Citrate, Citric Acid, Piroctone Olamine, Inulin, Tocopherol, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil, Disodium Phosphate, Sodium Phosphate, PEG-Crosspolymer, Caffeine, Sodium Phytate, Pentylene Glycol, Scutellaria Baicalensis Root Extract, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Saccharomyces Ferment Filtrate, 1,2-Hexanediol, Glycereth-26, Houttuynia Cordata Extract, Sodium Benzoate, Sodium Ascorbate, Serine, Glutamic Acid, Centella Asiatica Leaf Extract, Saccharomyces Cerevisiae Extract, Eucalyptus Globulus Leaf Extract, Aspartic Acid, Leucine, Caprylyl Glycol, Phenoxyethanol, Retinol, Alanine, Lysine, Beta-Glucan, Glycine, Sodium Chloride, Tyrosine, Phenylalanine, Proline, Threonine, Valine, Histidine, Cysteine, Methionine, Chamaecyparis Obtusa Leaf Extract, Ethylhexylglycerin, Bifida Ferment Lysate, Lactobacillus Ferment Lysate, Limonene, Linalool, Citronellol, Geraniol, Hydroxycitronellal, Citral, Hexyl Cinnamal, CoumarinRosemary (Rosmarinus Officinalis) Leaf Extract is ingredient #22Peppermint (Mentha Piperita) Leaf Extract is ingredient #24At best this means that, for the main selling point, there is, at best, a DROP of each in the product. The tingle you feel is not mint it's menthol. The product is "Sulfate-Free, Silicon-Free, Paraben-Free" as indicated in the listing. It does contain multiple ingredients that may improve circulation in your scalp and reduce breakage, so it might indeed do what it claims, and help make hair thicker by preventing breakage.Sadly due to the complicated nature of the ingredients and the high potential for allergic reaction due to the product containing multiple coconut/palm derivatives, I won't be trying this product. If you're not struggling with allergies, it might work and you could certainly try it.

Minty scalp care
I have been dealing with some excessive hair fall out and thinning for several months now. Dr. Groot Rosemary Mint Oil Tonic for Hair Growth with Biotin and Hyaluronic Acid is one of my many attempts to combat this concern. I like that it includes biotin and rosemary, two well known and commonly used ingredients to help thicken and strengthen hair. Hyaluronic acid is a relatively new player in the haircare game, but since it's commonly added to skincare products to plump the skin, why wouldn't the same work for the hair shaft as well? This tonic smells lovely, fresh and minty, and is easy to use. I use it after showering and towel-drying my hair before styling. It doesn't interfere with the rest of my haircare products. I hope I can experience the thickening benefits!

Not oily or greasy like some other rosemary oil products
I was intrigued by the name, pretty purple bottle and unique applicator, plus I’m experiencing some hair thinning so I was excited to give this product a try. I’ve used some other rosemary oil products in the past and found them to be a bit oily. I was concerned this might product might be the same, but I’m happy to report that it’s light and clean and makes my hair feel fresh and full vs. oily and weighed down. The applicator makes it very easy to target my thinning area. I apply a couple of pumps and rub it in well with my fingers. It invigorates my scalp and leaves my hair soft and shiny. It’s too early to tell if it’ll help with hair growth, but in the meantime, I’m enjoying its lovely scent and the way it makes my hair feel.
