Wicked: From the Hit Broadway Musical - Hits You Can Sing Too!

I purchased this 2-CD karaoke version of the Broadway musical "Wicked" for my star-to-be daughter for Christmas, and it has been a huge hit. First of all, the fact that it was recorded using actual cast members makes this a top-notch production. The music CD is fully orchestrated, rather than a quickly-assembled group of musicians or a synthesized accompaniment that so many karaoke CDs tend to be. And having the music in the actual key and tempo of the musical allows you to really "be" part of the play. I would highly recommend this for the casual singer or the star-to-be.

Many of the negative comments about this CDG don't have an impact on having karaoke fun at home. The guide vocals are pretty good and better than expected for the Glinda character. If you're a Wicked fan, you will have fun with this disk.I can't comment on the value of this disk for profressional preparation as I'm not in the business. However, I would agree with other reviewers that the fully synthesized music is way below standard. Not only does the music clearly have a synthesized sound, the synthesizer seems to be of a 1970's vintage. Yes, it's that bad. Ultimately, you can have fun but I'm surprised the producer decided to hire a one man band while also hiring reasonably good singers.

Kids knew all the songs by the time we saw the show in NYC. A lot of fun!

I was very disappointed in this cd. My daughter was using a few songs from Wicked for a talent show and had been listening to the original Broadway cd (which, by the way, is outstanding). When she tried singing with the karaoke cd, she was unable to because the timing is so different than that of the Broadway cd. Also, we listened to the cd with the vocals that was included with the set. It was horrible! I cringed at many of the vocals, which were not even close to being on key. If you need a karaoke cd of Wicked, I recommend that you wait until another one is released.

A decent karaoke CD but not great. The pace of the music doesn't follow the original Broadway soundtrack. It's ok but not ideal.

Granddaughter says "awesome" despite not having all the songs from the musical, but does have the major ones. Has played several times.

This is hard to follow and the backing tracks don't sound anything like the musical was intended. It is also hard to know exactly when you are meant to start singing unless you have a karaoke machine which not many people do. It was an expensive CD considering it is pretty useless!

もう少し本格的な伴奏を期待して購入したのですが、完全に電子音。最近のカラオケでももう少しいい音だよね、とがっかり。BWオリジナルキャスト盤に比べると歌もショボすぎです。
