These Sharpeners Work...
I've owned & used a Shark since they first came out several years ago, advertised by the late Billy Banks. I waited until Walgreens carried it & tried it out. (that way you can easily return items that don't work & a TV company doesn't get your credit card info). I found the Samurai Shark was the most useful item Banks ever hawked!Hard core blade enthusiasts can nay say all they want. No, I would never use it on my 250 year old samurai sword or to sharpen my $300 survival knife but I've used a shark to keep everything from dollar store black shears, 40 year old good kitchen & steak knives functionally sharp. I even use it to renew my utility knife blade. I've kept the original blade sharp for 10 years & I use it several times a week. I still use the first shark I bought over 15 years ago. I've bought several because I find they make great little gifts. By the way, we use the shark regularly on our GOOD kitchen knives & have for 15 years.None of the blades show any sign of disappearing. I'm sure they are slightly more narrow from years of sharpening but not by much.I did buy a new replacement recently. We still use the old one for scissors & shears. I broke the little blue stick trying to getthe double blades back closer together. It was finally wearing out. For normal people who have normal daily use knives and scissors to keep sharp & do not want to become Ranger Rick or a pro blade tech to do it, I recommend the Samurai Shark...but...then I'm not.. a Samurai Warrior or a surgeon.

Works for knifes, but doesn't last long
It sharpens knifes, but it doesn't last long. When first sharpens, knife works really well, but it doesn't last long. It seem each time I want to use knife, I have to sharpen the knife again.I tried to sharpen my scissors and made it worst and ended up ruin the scissors. I would not suggest anyone to try sharpening the scissors.

Amazing product
Had one before lasted a good 3 years. used it for sharpening outside tools. hoes, trimmers, shovels, pruner, anything you can imagine have half acre. I was amazed it lasted so long. works great. didn't see them in the store thought I wouldn't be able to find one. Thank goodness I did. fast shipping works great so cheap for what I get out of it. cheaper than the first one. I would pay more for it. If you want to sharpen your tools with something that lasts this is it.

Cabide tip dulls quickly.
The triple blade sharpening end sharpens very well and the carbibide material has not worn out after sharpening about a dozen knives. The single blade in tha back is another story. The carbide single end got dull after sharpenin 10 or so tools and knives and i had to flip it over for it to continue to sharpen. The carbide should last a lt longer than what it did.

Best sharpener outside of a whet stone
Been buying & giving as gifts for yrs. Don't hold up as good as I'd like but what does these days? Can say it's easy to use & sharpens everything it says it will. But u have to follow the directions & place it on a countertop or other hard surface, not in your hands. Have to have the correct angle for it to do its job. Plus it keeps the sharpeners aligned.

double edged sword
I love this product, it does exactly what it says...The only down side is that it doesn't last long. I go through 2 a year or so but its worth having sharp knives

Would not recommend unless you have knifes that cant even cut butter
the samurai shark sharpens your blade but also decreases the life time of it if you have a REALLY dull knife then use it. but for the finishing touches use a sharpening stone. this "sharpener" will NOT leave your blades razor sharp however it sharpened my siscors really well but how often does someone use a siscor....

Happy so far
It's a wonderful item, it just does not last very long when it is used daily over a lengthly period of time.
