I've been enjoying coloring books for a few years now. I have several that I have fun with, Paisley Designs, Garden Party!: Flower Designs & Crazy Creature Collection are a few of my favorites.-----(Be aware that the pictures in this book lack details. The pictures are designed for you to add your own doodles & embellishments. Check the 'Look Inside' feature. You will see a coloring picture of the sun, then you are given several examples on ways to add your own design elements to the picture)The Hipster Coloring Book is the first book in my collection that leaves space in the design to add your own embellishments. The book also provides coloring, color theory (how to use the color wheel), and patterning techniques plus some fully colored examples to get you started.I am not an artist and need all the help I can get when choosing colors and learning 'doodling' techniques. I love having all this information available to me.The perforated pages are extra-thick and printed on one side...the opposite side features a thoughtful, humorous, etc. quote. The thick pages are perfect for mixed media. You can use markers, colored pencils, gel pens or watercolors on them. The pages are perforated and can easily be removed for framing or coloring them.

I love the unique pictures in this book. This book is a nice change from all flowers and mandalas as in many adult coloring books. The pages are thick and perforated for easy removal. My gel pens did not soak through to the back of the pages. I like the extra page that has the pictures colored in for easy ideas on what color scheme to try. There's a few pictures that you can easily add in your own writings to make your picture more personal.I especially like that there are some pages with larger picture with thick lines to color with less details. I choose those to color on days my arthritis is flaring up on my hands. There's a great variety of detailed or less detailed pages to color. This is easily one of my top five adult coloring books. Enjoy it and have fun!

My son complains that I color too much so one day I let him borrow one of my other Thaneeya McArdel books and he was hooked.I think the draw to this book is the cute theme, easy to color images and easy for an impatient teenager to finish in one sitting.The best part is though, is a more experienced artist has the opportunity to doodle within the images and really make the page their own.I would recommend this book to: new colorists, teenage colorists, people with vision and pain problems.My son and I both enjoy the one sided pages with quotes and song lyrics on the back. As long as you put a small piece of cardboard or even a few pieces of card stock behind your page you can even use sharpies!I recommend this book often because I really enjoy the cute "hipster" images and will continue purchasing it as gifts.

I LOVE Thaneeya's coloring books, I have 3. I will undoubtedly be back for more. The ONLY reason I didn't give them all 5 stars is due to the quotes printed on the back side of the paper. I like them, they are interesting; but when you color the picture in, sometimes you can see the quote through the paper. So either put the quotes at the very top or bottom of pages where they don't interfere with the art on the front, or use thicker paper, OR get rid of them entirely. If you are using art markers or gel pens to color, you need to put blank paper behind before starting to catch the bleed.

I LOVE her coloring books! My favorites so far! Every page is perforated and has a beautiful or cute saying on the back of each page! I prefer to take a page and put it on a clip board...and the perforation obviously makes that easier! The only thing is once I color in marker it sometimes covers up the sayings on the back! Not a big enough problem to make me stop buying her books! I have several already and am back for more! The price is right and the choices are plenty! Thank you Thaneey....PLEASE keep making coloring books!! The therapy is just what the doctor ordered! My review is for all her books I own, not just this one!

I love this book. It's so fun and just invites you to use vibrant happy colors. Should I ever do all the pictures I will buy this again. I may anyways just to make sure I have an extra. Deserves 5 stars!I suffer from extreme anxiety and find that coloring in this book is helping me find a place of peace and almost zen like state.

I have loved all of this authors books but I was a little disappointed with this one. If you like large pictures that don't have a lot of detail than this would be a good one for you. I have 4 of her other books and I am about to order two more. This book just didn't have the details I'm used to with her books and honestly I only had about 3 or 4 pages I have done and I'm probably not going to be doing anymore from this book.

Love this colouring book.....the designs in it are just perfect...the paper thickness is good too ...only price wise I feel it's quite steep

Muy bonito y original, entretenido y de dibujos preciosos, sin duda para pasar muchas horas entretenidos, pero para niñ@s de hasta 8 o 9. A partir de ahí hay otros del mismo estilo con dibujos menos infantiles

I really like this cute coloring book, as I like most of Thaneeya's work. I was very happy to make the purchase even without being able to see inside the book at the time of purchase. I will be keeping this one for sure.The introductory pages are quite informative and offer ideas on how to color the pages beyond, and offer color theory and shading advice. Pages are single sided and offer a quote on the back of each one. The pages are of medium paper weight so I would recommend using a blotter and cardstock if you're going to use any medium other than coloring pencils and crayons.The cover is a nice weight cardstock with high gloss, and it's quite colorful on the front and back. The pages are neat and have copyright information in small font on the bottom of every page, making it all that easier to give credit where credit is due if you're sharing on facebook or instagram.

I can't say enough good things about Thaneeya McArdle's books! They are gorgeous and very well done! They are perfect for me because I love ones that are not as intricate and that I can be as liberal as I want with the colors. The designs she uses allows for your imagination to really flow! I definitely recommend this book!
