I’ve been a fan of this brand for a while now—so much so that I’ve equipped my staff with multiple units over the years. Their previous models consistently delivered solid performance and reliability in our busy office environment. When it came time to upgrade my own setup, I knew I had to try the new Nucbox M3 Plus mini PC.Using the Nucbox M3 Plus has been a real treat. It’s impressively fast, handling everything from everyday tasks to more demanding projects without breaking a sweat. One of the features I appreciate most is its support for a triple monitor setup, which has made multitasking and productivity a breeze. The compact design is both stylish and practical, fitting neatly on my desk while still packing plenty of power.Overall, this mini PC has proven to be a perfect blend of performance and convenience. Whether you’re looking to outfit your team or upgrade your personal workstation, I highly recommend giving it a try.

This replaced an old computer that acts as a home theater PC. I have a home video server for shows and movies that are 1080p to 4k, and have high bit rates. The old computer would struggle since the codecs used would be a high computational load, like AV1, without hardware acceleration. 11th gen or higher Intel CPUs have built-in support for x264/265/AV1. So, this PC handles the videos perfectly, and the thing is pretty quiet at that. It does spin up periodically, and is a bit distracting since it is so quiet most of the time. However, unless you're running an update or something else in the background, it's pretty quiet for the usage. I haven't played any games and such with it, but I doubt it would perform well. A PC this compact is good for a generic workstation in the office, or a home theater PC at home, for games, I wouldn't go with a compact PC.In summary, if you buy it for the appropriate use, it is a nice PC.

I'm using this as a headless Plex server, and it works great, plenty of power. It does get a bit loud when the fan kicks on, but it's not that often or for very long. For the price, it performs very well.

This is a really nice little Mini PC with some decent capability and a couple of caveats.If you look at the screenshot of Lexar SSD that comes stock with the PC. The Read/Write Speeds of the 476GB one. You will see that they are standard for Gen3x4 M.2 PCI-e SSD. The second SSD Read/Write speeds is the one that most people may find shocking. As it is a PCI-e Gen3x4 2242 M.2 SSD. Even though the information says it only accepts SATA. It's a cheap as possible SKHynix I purchased off Amazon for $16. So that's probably why the write speeds aren't as good as expected. The empty 2242 M.2 SSD slot is PCI-e and SATA. The motherboard even states it if you see the picture of the inside with both SSD's removed. The HWINFO64 data shows that it is PCI-e Gen3 compatible as well. So a 2TB 2242 M.2 SSD and a large multi TB 2280 SSD and you could have a decent amount of storage in this PC.I was able to get all three monitor outputs working properly. The only thing I couldn't get working was HDR for my 4K HDR TV. I have been able to get another PC to output 4K HDR to it so I know it wasn't that. Probably Windows or Intel driver issues.The one thing that I didn't like was the fan noise. Any time the CPU had to ramp up for any task. It would be almost as loud as older PC's loud fans. Looks like the CPU cooler needs to be larger. I did go into the BIOS and set the TDP to 45W instead of the Standard of 35W. That still shouldn't have that much effect on temps. Even the screenshot from HWINFO64 Sensors shows the slightly higher temps than you may like from it. Possibly a mesh ring around the whole top panel would help with that. Or possibly a bullseye looking design in the top panel.This PC will make a great retro gaming PC and some newer Windows games but I wouldn't try Cyber Punk on it. The game benchmarks show how well it could possibly handle different games. You could also use the 2242 M.2 SSD as your OS drive and use a PCI-e M.2 External Graphics adapter in the 2280 slot. Making it so you could run many more modern games at much higher settings. But you would still have to deal with the CPU temp issue and possible thermal throttling. Even 2-3 more mm on the thickness of the cooler would help.You could also purchase a low cost DAS and make a great Plex/Emby/JellyFin server out of it.In conclusion.This is a great little PC hampered by a CPU cooler that just isn't enough to keep this thing as cool as it should.I really do think they should release different tiers for their devices. Say make one motherboard model but only enable things like Thunderbolt/USB 4/5 with the install of the hardware for it for those willing to pay a little higher price. Or even the possibility for an external GPU connection or something like that. Heck a slightly taller PC would even allow a 2.5" SATA SSD/HDD to be installed. Considering the bottom plate actually has a spot molded in it for one.

Fascinating technology. So small and efficient. Great value. Running a Bloomberg Professional Terminal on it, and it flys. Easily powers 34” LG monitor with great graphics. Thunderbolt or high power USB-C ports would make this perfect. BIOS maintenance/updates are archaic and really different from Dell/HP. Will update review after time.

I have an issue with periodic pauses. It probably is the NVMe drive having issues. The problem is that GMK has not responded to 2 email to their support page in 2 weeks. The customer service is VERY poor, even non-existent. I do not recommend them for this reason! Funny thing is that I was probably going to buy another if this function well to replace my main computer.

I bought a GMKtec M3 Plus. I bought it from Amazon. I wiped out Windows because I use MX Linux. Had no trouble installing the latest MX Linux but then I could not get my monitor to work. All I got was a "No Signal" notice. After a lot of trouble shooting I discovered that my wireless mouse was the issue. The mouse chip that plugs into the mini pc was preventing the signal to the monitor. When I took out the mouse chip, then the monitor worked.Since the this mini pc comes with the BIOS set to USB drive first, it may be that the mouse bus chip is confusing the pc. Once I'm booted and in MX Linux I can put the mouse bus back in the pc and it works fine. I've had this for about a week. It is dead quiet (I don't do games). It does not get hot doing web browsing or watching videos. I find the sound is MUCH better and the Video resolution much better than my older big box PC. So far I would recommend it. And remember, Linux works fine on the Mini M3 Plus..Note: I changed the BIOS to boot the SSD drive 1st and this solved the problem of the wireless mouse dongle interfering with the boot.
