Works Great so far
Just got my Cold Tower. seems a bit expensive for what it is. but i bought it based on reviews that claim it is quiet. It is quiet and keeps my beer perfectly chilly. (no way to know how long it will last)Minus one Star (maybe two) because they give you no way to mount the unit to the side of the kegerator, AND they require it to be 2 inches away from the wall of the kegerator. Sooo... one would think one would engineer such a thing to have 2"molded standoffs on the fan housing, but NO! . Now i will need to make such a housing. Also of note is that they should supply velcro strips to stick it to the sidewall. Lastly , and important to know if your Kegerator (like mine) in under the bar and you run 2" pvc pipe to the tower (as most likely do) .. the hose that is supplied is way too short to reach the top of the tower to inside the kegerator (really???) Better plan on putting your kegerator close to the tower (doesnt that then eliminate the need for the blower cooler?? - Just sayin.) in closing, its a nice unit . i just want reviewers/ potential buyers to be aware of what i ran into.ok... ill put it it at 4 stars (3.5) because i had to write all that.

Keeps the tower cold for less head on your beer.
I have used this cooler for a few months now and I can say it does the job of bringing cold air from inside the Kegerator up into the tower very well. i can tell it works because the tap sweats on humid days. Mechanically as with any fan it can get frozen over if left too close to the cooling grates in the kegerator. Especially living in Phoenix keeping the tower cool is essential for cold beer and lower amounts of head, and if it can work this well here it will work anywhere. The Coldtower works like a charm.I only have two complaints about the unit and both of them relate to the power chord and switch. One, the chord and switch are quite short, especially if you run your power for the unit in with the CO2 lines. Ordinarily this wouldn't be an issue, but while moving the unit slightly the chord ripped out of the switch. I have since soldered it back in place and gotten an extension chord but its something to be careful about. My second issue with the power chord is that it would be nice to have an indicator of when the unit is on. This unit is quiet and it runs on the inside of the kegerator with the switch outside. The only way to tell its on is to open the door to hear it, or to pop the top off the tower to feel the airflow.Even with the power chord issues, I would certainly buy this unit again. I do and have recommended this product to friends.

I'm Just Sayin', It Should Be 5 Stars
Man, this is tough. Does it work? Yes. Is it easy to install? Yes. Does it cool the tower and cut the foam problem? Yes. So Jeff, why only 4 and not 5 stars? Well, I wrote to the seller ( a really nice guy) and we discussed the one issue I have experienced. Because the keg is kept at 40 degrees we have a cold environment. The fan used is a CPU type fan. Very efficient and usually quiet. However, when put into a cold environment it is operating opposite what it was designed for. The design is to be in a hot enviroment and evacuate hot air. In a kegerator things are reversed. Cold environment moving cold air. The result for me was on start up the motor on the fan makes a loud squeal. This lasts for 2-5 minutes until the rpms warm the shaft and the bushings or bearings warm up. Then the unit goes very quiet and you can't hear it running. Some folks will want to only run the unit when they use the kegerator. They will hear starup noise ( maybe - remember, I'm an n of 1). We looked at the specs and the MTBF is >20,000 hrs. So I just leave it on 24/7 when a keg is in. The Watt Minder I have says this thing will cost me almost $4.00 over 2 years running every day. If it croaks, you can disassemble it and put in a fan for, oh, maybe nothing if you have an old computer laying around.

One you try it it is a necessity to have
Works great, i would suggest that you put the end of the hose as close to the faucet as you can. It gets the tower super cold, great product works as advertised. A little pricey but 100% worth it.

I got better pours but still had a bit foam at the ...
Works fairly well in cooling the tower of my kegerator. Previously, I was forced to run about 4 oz. of beer off with each fresh pour because the temperature in the tower wasn't keeping the beer cold enough and I would get glasses of half foam. This seems to be very common with low end kegerators. I read lots of forums and did lots of tweaking to the temperature/pressure/lines/etc., but didn't have any notable success in reducing the foam on each new pour. After installing this product, I got better pours but still had a bit foam at the start (probably a 50-75% improvement). I went to my local big box hardware store and got some pipe insulation, which wrapped around the outside of the tower to keep the cold in. Now I'm getting perfect pours every time and not wasting any beer. This is definitely a recommended product for those frustrated with foamy keg beer and adding in some insulation will help if this product doesn't do the trick by itself. There are lower end version of this product (and DIY tutorials) that use computer fans and/or 9 volt batteries, but do NOT waste your time. These products don't cool near as well!

Works great to cool kegerator towers
I bought this as I was having an issue with beer foaming at the beginning of my pour only, which lead me the believe that the issue was my tap tower being warmer than the fridge. I installed this last night in about 20-30 minutes (including time to drill another hole in the top of my kegerator fridge). I gave it time over night for things to stabilize and today my foam issues are gone. Install was easy and it works well, I would recommend this product.I would note that I ran into an issue with shipping where the first package went missing. After contacting the vendor they quickly sent another one express and I had it a few days later. The issue was with the USPS not the vendor but they reacted very quickly to sort things out.
