Fantastic idea, easily installed
About twenty years ago I bought a 50 ft 12ga extension cord with a molded-on locking socket. The locking socket was such a great idea I expected to see them take over the market. Obviously I was wrong. While it’s taken me 20 years to find this locking socket, the PLUGLOCKER socket incorporates some improvements which make it even better than the socket on my 12ga extension cord. First of all, it’s a replacement socket that can be installed on my existing 100ft 14ga outdoor extension cord – no need to buy a new expensive cord with molded end. Secondly, installation is straight forward and easy even with heavier 14 or 12 AWG cords. Complete text instructions with illustrations are clearly printed on the box. Thirdly, given how solidly the socket grips the inserted plug, the amount of pressure needed to depress the release button is surprisingly little. The advantage of coupling 2 cords together without having to resort to knots or external devices to keep them from separating during use makes the excellent design of the PLUGLOCKER worth 5 stars in my opinion.

Great product, but expensive
The PlugLocker Extension Cord Connector is a well-designed product. It simply does what it is designed to do, which is to securely replace an existing extension cord outlet. At nearly $12 though, it is rather expensive, considering the cost of a new extension cord. The instructions are easy to follow and the results are a secure connection.

These are the absolute best!
I have ordered dozens of these in the past and really love them! I usually build my own extension cords with SJO and SO cable and I always use these. They lock onto the male plugs and release with a press of a button. I have never had one break on me. In fact, a few times I bought extension cords from the store and cut the ends off just to put these on. Anytime my friends come help me load out my gigs they are always complimenting how awesome these are. One year i gave a few out for christmas to a few of my friends and one of them immediately cut one of his cords up and addid it to it. We were all laughing. Anyway, these terminate the wire easily and I have never had an issue with them loosening up or the jacket pulling out of the connector. These should be in every store, gig, and garage. Buy it now, you wont be sorry!

No more cord retainers or knots
If you need to change out the receptacle end of any extension cord this is a great option. For cords you're moving around, it prevents the plug from unplugging. When you plug a cord into it, it locks the cord in place using the small holes in the tines of the plug. It won't pull out with normal force. Press the yellow button to release it. You often need to press the button to insert a plug as well.It doesn't work with all plugs. If the tines lack holes, or if they are too short, they won' catch the internal clips. In those situations, it still works as a normal receptacle. I'm not removing a star for that issue, because it's a problem with the non-standard plugs, not this receptacle. The face of the receptacle is also larger than many extension cord receptacles, so it may not fit into a recessed plug like those found on some yard tools or line-powered motor starters on power equipment.I'll be getting a few more of these for my workshop.

Easy to install
I've been putting off repairing my old extension cord for years. Glad I found this item, it was easy to install in just a few minutes. My old cord had multiple repairs and breaks from hedge trimming accidents LOL, so I cut off a few feet and installed this connector with the help of just a few simple tools that I had around the house. What took the longest was stripping the old cord with an exacto knife, be careful you don't go too deep or you will cut into the copper wire. If you have a wire stripping tool, it's a piece of cake. I like that this has a lock on it to prevent the cord from detaching. My old cord did not have a ground so I only needed to attach two wires, my electrician said this was perfectly okay. Glad this mini project is finally done!

no more detached cords!!!
Love the concept, a locking extension cord end. So many times I have used power tools and have had the cord come disconnected while in use. This is really convenient as I don't have to tie it in a knot anymore. Its simple to use but you have to remember to push the button to insert the plug. It holds tight and I have not had a disconnection since. Feels study I think it might be nylon reinforced plastic. Assembly is easy as there is room to fit the wires. It worked really well for all my cords except for one which would pull out, not sure what was going on but it may have had to do with the size of the holes in the prongs.A couple of improvements could be made. They should put a lighted end so that you can tell when it has power and the cord retention clamp is just plain plastic without a rubber seal, so the back end could get exposed to water/debris. If they put in a rubber gasket to help seal the cord it would be great.

No More Accidental Unplugging
PLUGLOCKER has solved the age-old problem of your power tool coming disconnected from your extension cord at the most inopportune moment. I have an extension cord that I have had for years with a similar idea, but it never really worked all that well. This locking plug puts a “death grip” on the male plug. I wired mine to an old cord I had. The process was simple and just needed a Phillips screw driver. I plugged in a 3-prong cord and pulled with all my might and could not get the cords to separate. No more accidental disconnections. The manufacturer says this plug is good for both indoor and outdoor use. It is rated for 15 amps. The PLUGLOCKER is a very good product that will save a lot of frustration.

Plug Locks onto Male Plug! Works Great.
Installs like any replacement plug. Screws and terminals hold the wires very tight. The clamp on the end holds the wire tightly and won’t pull out. The plug has a very cool feature that holds the male plug tight until you press the button to release. This is great for cords that are plugged into hand tools. I used it on a cord reel from the ceiling. This plug holds tight to whatever I have plugged in. It works very well.
