Disliked the instructions somewhat confusing

I was concerned about what would arrive. It was shipped and sold by amazon so I was mostly confident. Upon arrival it was very thin. However, give it 4 days to fully fluff. It is great, very comfortable and good value for what I paid. I got the black which will not stain if liquid spills on sheets. I do not recommend sleeping on a futon without a fitted and top sheet, a double layer to keep it sanitary. My only complaint is the box was sealed with a single layer of tape on each end and was almost torn open. Thanks, amazon.

I've lost all trust in Amazon reviews knowing that anyone gave this mattress more than a star. (I also seem to have not gone through reviews thoroughly enough before buying.) First, 8-inches is generous, the depth is under 7". Worse, the "memory foam" is two thin sheets of packing foam surrounded by a rat's nest of lord-knows-what for stuffing, not fit for a dog bed. To be clear, this is *NOT* the traditional memory foam I'm used to seeing in mattress stores. The zippered case would be a convenient way to wash the cover, however you would never be able to remove it and keep the mattress intact. I've included pictures to illustrate.By far the worst thing is something I can't describe in pictures or even words: the smell. It's disgusting and the odor pervaded our house within a few minutes of unwrapping. Imagine the wold's most disgusting bum and he's on a hash and opium vacation, with the sporadic amorous session with his patchouli-drenched girlfriend. And they're burning cheap incense. This mattress retained their scent and then someone put the mattress on Amazon. That's what it smells like.In all seriousness, the fumes were extremely concerning and this was immediately relegated to the garage for return pick-up. I would NEVER let my child or his friends sleep on the mattress. And then the REAL fun began as we're trying to figure out how to get it back into the box.The real winner here is me (?) because it cost me about $10 in return shipping to learn the valuable lesson that we don't buy furniture on Amazon. Never again.

The mattress itself is great, much thicker than my previous mattress and true to size. Comfort level is about what one can expect from a futon. Would have given five stars but the mattress that arrived was tan when I had ordered a black one. Not the end of the world since it gets covered by a sheet anyways but still would have been nice to get the color I ordered.

Before purchasing this item I read a bunch of reviews about how they arrived smelling terrible. Well, I took the chance, and before fully opening the air-tight wrapping I spent quite a lot of time smelling the mattress. I wanted to make sure that if it smelled bad I would be able to return it. My husband thought I was nuts, since I asked him multiple times to smell it "just to make sure." Anyways, it was fine, didn't notice any lingering odor. The mattress itself is very nice, and guests have almost opted to sleep on it over our actually spare bed. It is a little lumpy, especially in the seated mode, and one side sits higher than the other. Nice product overall.

Received the futon mattress even before the promised delivery date. It was packed in plastic inside a cardboard box and rolled up. Upon unpacking it, it was clean and obviously new with no flaws whatsoever. The bright blue color matches our Florida Gators theme perfectly and really completes the room. And to top it off, surprisingly... this mattress is softer and more comfortable than the original one that came with the futon! I'm very satisfied and especially love the fact that I was given the option for paying in installments with Amazon! What could be better!?

I got this for my futon couch since it is both my only couch and my guest bed and the old mattress was so thin. This one is so thick I sometimes struggle to get it into couch mode! It's super comfy to sit on and to sleep on, barely feel the bars of the frame through it. Love it!

I actually ordered two of these about a week or so apart. The first one that came is great. It's still holding up fine after using it daily. However, the second one is of a different quality. First off it's not the same blue and it doesn't seem stuffed as much. And it has completely bottomed out. I think this is odd as I ordered only weeks apart from the same place.
