This is a great educational toy - you get one set of capital letters and two sets of lower case letters. That means there is plenty of scope for putting different words together.The cards are a great addition with pictures of simple words and then dotted lines for the outline of each letter. My little one is just at the stage of learning her letters, so spelling is beyond her, but she was working it out like a puzzle and I think that is a great start.The storage bag it came with was useless - the fabric is too stiff and it doesn't stay closed as there is no toggle to hold it shut. We threw it away and just store the pieces in the box.

My 4 year old isn't the most keen learner, however really enjoys this activity.The set comes with a variety of colours of wooden letters in lower case and upper case sizes. They are made of lightweight durable wood, and are easy to grip and hold.The cards have a good range of simple and slightly more advanced 3 and 4 letter words, that are easily recognisable with the corresponding image.This activity is great for introducing phonics, letters and sound blending. It's arranged in a way that makes learning seem like a game, but with the achievement of seeing what you have done.I'd highly recommend this to 4/5/6 year old children.

Easy to store and put away in the bag when not using, fun way to teach my little girl words and letters, helping kids learn to recognise letters and spell simple words, an interactive experience!

This appears to be a suitable gift for the Grandchildren who are currently learning to spell at school. So a handy stocking filler I think.The wooden characters are variously coloured, but otherwise plainly ordinary. The cards in the kit seem simple enough and I think are at the same level as the children are learning at school, so probably appropriate. Reasonable value I think.
