Meets my current needs
I’ve not test at the full 5Gbps speed as I don’t have any other devices faster than 2.5Gbps. But as 5Gbps ethernet is backward compatible with 2.5Gbps, I was interested in it as a way to upgrade a machine with 1Gbps ethernet. I can confirm this dongle allows me to connect at 2.5Gbps— so it meets my current needs and leaves room for future. It seems well made and comes with a couple USB cables that look to be of better quality that what is often bundled. I’ll also note it does get kinda hot.[Disclosure: I received this product for “free”—in quotes because the IRS considers the item’s retail value as taxable income for federal income tax purposes. Move up to real multi gig speed!
Using this on my Win 10 Dell Latitude laptop and I'm finally able to get multi-gig wired speed through my network! It is a realtek chipset and worked really easily just plugging it in and connecting.I like that it uses a separate cable rather than a permanently connected one. That way when I inevitably abuse it and break the cable I can just throw a new one on.

Works as described
Becomes very hot during use. Shows 5Gbps speedeē as described. Need to install windows 11 drivers first before Adapter can be used. When driver is not installed, it is able to be detected by windows but cannot work.
