We LOVE our SportDog underwire kit! We ordered this a year or so ago. It is doing GREAT! Our dogs were in for the "shock" of their life. We showed them the boundary and it only took one little buzz to get their attention. We have a lab mix (85pds) & a weimaraner (95 lbs) and both of them are quite obedient when it comes to the boundary now. When we first trained them we took them out and walked them to the lines. We had the flags up and everything. One of them eventually crossed and thats all it took. Mind you, for the next week we had to CARRY them outside. They were so scared of being shocked. It just took some time for them to realize that they wouldn't get shocked unless they heard the beep and felt the vibration. They became comfortable in our front yard after about a week or two. It took about a month for them to realize the back yard is safe. And THANK GOD after about four months they decided to go back in the field. (That is where they used to poop, and after they became scared started pooping in my front yard). We have three acres of land, but live on a busy four lane highway. It is so nice being able to let them out unsupervised to play and do their business! They have actually learned the complete boundary on their own. I don't care where my husband and I walk, they know exactly how far to walk (flags were taken down a long time ago) and stop. They've even become comfortable with the vibration. They know thats when to back up. It doesn't scare them, but they know to back up. Now the beeping noise is a different story. They know at the end of that beeping is usually a shock. They are PETRIFIED of ANY noise that sounds like it! We hear that TONE often while watching TV and our poor Weimaraner (95lbs Mind you) jumps on the top of the sofa against the wall and starts shaking. I guess its the same pitch as their collar, but it scares the devil out of him. He thinks he's about to be shocked. So, as you're reading this.. you're probably thinking.. Geez.. they shouldn't have put the setting so high. lol.. No, our BIG dogs are just Little babies. We've had our dog's collars on the 2nd setting. I think there are five. We've had it on level 2 the whole time, and have had no need to increase it. My husband gets mad at me because sometimes I will let them out without the collar on. Doesn't matter. They aren't going close to the boundary line. Thank you SportDOG for making me life so much less complicated!!

Kit only covered 1.3 acres and I wanted to do 2.5 acres.

They include the parts needed to splice this into the wire that comes with the system. They make it super easy and it's a solid connection with good dielectric grease to keep the connection point from corroding. This is definitely a must-have if you have a big property where you're planning to install an inground dog fence system.

Our dog understood to keep his distance as soon as we installed this system. We love it and have used it on our entire 3 acre country home for years.We are now moving and leaving the old wire for the new owners. We bought new wire to install at our new place. Care free maintenance and no worry about the dog bothering the neighbors.

Tedious job.

I have used SportDog products for the last seven years. The products arrive on time and perform exceptionally well.Since installing the underground fence on six acres of my property I have not had to worry about my dogs safety. The power is sufficient to get the attention of my very large stubborn golden retriever. I have three dogs and the add a collar feature (buy another collar) has been great. I have had to replace two collars over the years, but I do have three rowdy canines. I have a few "breaks" in the fence line, but that may have been due to various construction projects.The wire itself is very thin, but does stand the test of time.Best of all---the official SportDog customer service is awesome. Replacement kits for any problem (such as longer prongs for the collar if you have a supper hairy animal or screws for the collar unit) are readily obtained. I do recommend the getting a surge protector. A month after I installed my original unit lightning struck. I called the customer service rep and a unit was sent to me free of charge even though I had purchased the item through Amazon.Best product and company ever!

This product literally saved our dog. She was visiting our neighbors homes and bringing back treasures that did NOT belong to us. We were desperate for a solution. We live on four acres that would be extremely difficult to fence (as well as expensive). This wire fence was our last hope. It was some effort to bury the wire, but we used a hoe after a rainy day, and the work went quickly. We set the warning at four feet and that was perfect for us. We were surprised how much our dog hated the warning beeps and vibrations. That proved to be the best part of this fence. Our Daisy now stays in our yard and the neighbors have become our friends again.

We moved and took everything from our old system but needed new wire. We purchased this as it also came with the marker flags. Installed it and had no breaks occur during installation, hooked right up to my existing system with no problems at all. Almost a month later still no breaks or issues. Partially buried and partially zip tied to the fence.
