Needed a straight forward radio to operate on Simple Light licenced frequencies. Wanted to be able to utilise the 5W allowable power, but didn't want one with dual band and lots of buttons, so this was spot on. Good range, good audio quality, easy to operate.Please note that you do require a licence to operate this radio in the UK; it is not intended to operate on PMR446, its output power is too high and its antenna is removable.The units I received were fitted with SMA female connectors and not the male ones shown in the item's photos; so just be aware if you want to upgrade the stock antenna.Plus points:Radio feels solid.Has a 7.4V battery and outputs a true 5W (unlike some others that claim they do, but don't!)All buttons feel good and give an obvious click to show they've been operated.Strong screw-on belt clip.Excellent transmit audio quality.Dust / splash resistant.Can use standard Prolific serial cable to programNegative points:I found the volume a bit quiet; hard to hear next to a busy road.The product info states FM radio, but this is an error, this feature is not available on this radio.Currently can't use CHIRP software to program it and the Olywiz software looks a bit old and clunky.

Chargers are not great as 2 are already not working, they are only a couple of months old

Tried the 2w versiob first, then now this one.The range is massively over exaggerated, as my review in the 2w version, my kiddies radios are as equally as powerful as these.I did a simple test from my home to a small distance away (less then half a mile as)When they work they are clear, then as small distance further they just break up or nothing.My kiddies ones where working at exactly the same distance albeit crackly, but still perfectly usable.Disappointed as i thought these would do the job well.I had purchased these to use in the race car on track. They will not be capable of this task.

Good quality range was omay

The distance on these is great. The range goes a long way and round or through walls. Simple to use if you've got staff etc. We bought more cause they really do the job without costing too much.

Love the product. Using it is so easy and the sound is crystal clear. From my perspective its is a good purchase. I would recommend this product to anyone looking to buy walkie talkies

Great budget walkie talkies, we use them when we are on jobs in buildings and they've worked well, also too them to centre parcs with the kids and they worked great with some good distance too.

Absolutely horrendous, I bought these as they advertised up to 2miles distance in residential areas, I was not 500yards away from the house when the signal was lost. I bought these for my 5yr old daughter to keep in touch, as due to a condition she finds it hard to concentrate on the phone. I was extremely disappointed with this product as it did not live up to the standards it claimed to in the advert/description.
