It works!
I am pretty pleased at this point. It has been only a day but, so far this cone has kept my old girl from her paws. She has kidney disease as well as allergies so she has licked the fur off of her paws. I have done hours of reviews of e-collars and have tried several thus far without success. Despite some bad reviews I decided to give this a try. I wanted to get my old girl out of the plastic cone. When I opened it my excitement went down a little because it was not as stiff as I expected it to be. Not to be discouraged I put it on my girl and she was not apprehensive at all. It reminds me of a big floppy hat. It does have a reinforced edge around the entire cone but, if my old girl runs into something she is not either knocking something over or getting pushed backwards because of hitting a solid object. It has some padding around the neck with a nylon cord. My biggest hurdle was I needed it to be long enough for her to not reach her paws. It works perfectly! She cannot reach her paws and has a wide field of view with this. She can sleep a lot more comfortably with this cone verses the others I have tried. Just read the reviews carefully and don't wash this and you should be fine. It is made of a synthetic material so some wipes should be able to clean it up when it gets dirty. It's too early for the long term review but, my initial review is that myself and my old girl are happy!Edit-2/18/24So it has been a few days with this new e-collar and I am very happy with it. My old girl is a lot less stressed with this than the other ones I have tried. I forgot to mention in the original review that this collar is also very lightweight. My old girl sleeps better and gets around so much better than she did previously. She kept the collar on when at work and there is no damage to it. This will definitely be my go to collar in the future. My old girl thanks the designer and maker of this collar.

Excellent option; comfortable, easy to use, allows more maneuverability for dog
We bought this collar for post-op recovery for my small, 12-lb dog. It is lightweight but holds its shape, easy to put on, and is much more comfortable for her to sleep in, navigate our stairs, use her crate, and reach her water bowl.My dog has had a couple of lumpectomies for cancerous masses. Normally she wears the inflatable donut collar, but this time she also had a mass removed from her back ankle. After some consistent flexibility training all week, she was finally able to get her back foot up past the inflatable collar and lick it, so we had to go back to the rigid plastic Cone of Shame. I used another semi-soft cone collar before this one and it was better than the traditional e-collar, but still too stiff and too long to navigate stairs, crate, and water bowl effectively. So another friend recommended this KVP collar and it's absolutely perfect. It is long enough to stop her from licking her back paw, but light enough she can navigate life easily, sleep comfortably, and drink water unassisted. Can't recommend it highly enough.Ease of cleaning i rated lower - it's a canvas style collar with stabilizer interfacing so you'd have to spot clean it and hang to dry. I wouldn't recommend putting it through a washing machine. Also, it closes via drawstring and I was worried about my dog looping her foot through and getting stuck, so I threaded a thin cat collar through it instead as the attachment point. There is a black casing of semi-stretchy fabric that the drawstring runs through, so using a ribbon, elastic, or thin collar is an easy alternative.

Comfortable, but not for long term use.
My cat is so much happier wearing a soft cone! She's able to sleep and eat relatively comfortably while wearing it, but because it is soft it is not particularly sturdy. After a week of wear, the cone becomes less sturdy due to my cat's scratching at it. The cone is inexpensive so I simply buy two at a time.

The vest e-collar *****
This is by far the best e-collar out there. I have a pug they don't really have a neck. She does not mind wearing it. She puts her head through the opening willingly. She keeps it on and is not able to get to her wound which is on top of her head between her ears. Without this e, collar, she can get to her wound with her back foot. I have 2 one she wears during the day. The other She wears to bed. She sleeps peacefully. Not to mention she looks pretty cute.

Not for my dog!
This item may be good for some dogs, however, it wasn’t a good fit for mine. It was a little too Flimsy.

It's a Matter of Opinion and Cat
Soft. Too flexible. No boning to help keep its shape. It draped around her head and towards the floor not allowing her to have ease of movement. Hole for head was a little too small for my Maincoon. It was a slight struggle to get over her ears but it fit nicely around neck after the struggle. The length is a little too long. Hangs too low. As the cone widens out, well, it's a little too wide. I pinched and sewn about a half an inch (give or take) on opposite sides to bring it in some. It was better but still bad overall. Sewn together or not, she was getting hung up on things as she walked. The cone would scrunch back, defeating the purpose of the cone in the first place. It's just too long, wide, and doesnt have structure which made her struggle to see, walk, jump up or down.I had to help her with food and water intake. I used it until a fabulous replacement came of another type and then threw this one away.

Great soft cone
I bought a medium sized cone for my 20 pound pug and it fit him perfectly. He wasn’t able to scratch his face or eye and it was light weight so he could walk around with it comfortably. My only complaint was it took 3 days longer to get here than the date given to me when I ordered it. Fortunately, I already had the hard plastic cone, but if I had known it would take that long, I would’ve ordered elsewhere. Otherwise, I’m happy to have it now as he likes it so much better than the other cone.
