This is a really lovely little gift set for somebody green fingered (although I got it for some of the tools for use in my garden). The gardening tools seem to be well-made and are certainly very pretty to look at, and the candles and hand cream also look lovely. When the various items are all set out in the box they came in they looks gorgous, overall it makes a really sweet little gift box. Fab!

Bought as a present for my friend. She loved it. The only thing that could be better is if the items in the box were placed in better, they were just loose in there. I bought tissue paper to wrap round each tool , made it look nicer. Would buy again tho.

I bought this for my Sister-in-law who loves littering around the garden.This set is perfect for her smaller hands doesn’t look too heavy. Smart appearance, great value.

This set is a gift set intended more towards a female audience I reckon. The set contains pruners/secateurs, a hand trowel and a hand fork, some light fabric gloves with palms that have plastic bobbles on them as well as two small candles and two mini tubes of hand cream.Now, I'm not sure what candles and hand cream have to do with gardening necessarily, unless you are saying use the hand cream after working in the garden and then light the candle whilst you relax from a hard day's graft in the garden. OK, I guess it makes complete sense when you look at it that way. I take back my use of the word "weird" in the review title. It's not so weird after all!But in all seriousness I think the set is pretty useful for a lady who likes to potter in the garden. The tools are all pretty functional. The secateurs feel like good quality but the trowel and fork are a little on the thin side with regards to the metal they're made from. The gloves are fabric and quite thin but the palms do have a protective layer of rubbery nubbins that stick out a couple of millimetres from the surface. The designs on the tools and the (different) one on the gloves are....let's just say they're "busy" and be done with it! Not really for me as an adult man in my 40s but I'm sure someone out there will appreciate them!The candles and the hand cream are both florally scented. They again are not massively to my taste as a bloke but honestly they're harmless enough. They're not a huge selling point of the set I don't think, they're more like stocking fillers to round the set off.I think this set would make for a good gift idea. It comes well-presented in a gift box, although on the underside of mine there is an annoying bar code sticker which takes away from the good presentation somewhat I feel. the only thing I would say is to try and have a good look at the pattern/design on the tools. You know your gift recipient better than me, but I think they are very "busy" as I said earlier and may not be for everyone.

However, one area of improvement could be the overall durability of some items, such as the gloves or smaller accessories, which might not last as long as it should be. Overall, this gift is perfect for mums, grandmas, or any women who enjoy gardening, and it’s suitable for various occasions. I would definitely recommend it to others looking for a simple but thoughtful garden tool present.

The first thing you notice is that this come in a decent little box. Opening the box it's crammed, literally, full of goodies.The fork and trowel are all over metal, which means that they a less than fully comfortable to hold versus the ones with wooden handles. But the metal is actually a decent quality and does not feel like it will bend on first use.The gloves are thin but okay. The secateurs are again reasonable although to get them wide open they are then designed quite wide in your hand which is a bit awkward.I am not sure about the inclusion of the hand cream and candles - maybe there are other things like hessian twine, flower labels, or even some seeds that could be included to make it a better set. That and maybe making the box a touch bigger so it doesn't look so crammed in and a sheet of tissue, would elevate this to a sup r set. But then again at the price of £10.99 at the time of review it's not so bad as it is.

The first thing I noticed upon receiving this gift pack was that the box had been opened. Fortunately, everything was intact but still, it means that I will not be able to give this to my mother-in-law as a gift.In terms of the contents, they are all very pretty but the tools (fork, trowel, and secateurs) are more like toys than something for the serious gardener. Similarly, the gloves are pretty flimsy, so will only really protect one's hands from getting dirt under the nails!The candles and handcream though, are very pleasant, and worth the £11.39 cost (at the time of reviewing). Probably the best part of this gift set, to be honest. I shall be giving them as stocking presents this Christmas!
