Ash vs Evil Dead Season 1-3 [Blu-ray] [2018]

It's a better series than what Army of Darkness is as a movie. A.O.D to me is the weakest moment in the series. The only reason I have given the TV series 4 stars instead of 5 is it has one or two moments where the comedy goes too far and just isn't very funny at all. The fight with the colon monster in the morgue for one. Yes I said that right and you didn't misread it. Ash has a prolonged fight with a reanimated bodies internal organ that comes to life. Some viewers might like this scene. But I found it not funny. That's comedy I guess. It can be subjective.The show as a whole is really entertaining. Once I started on the Seasons 1 to 3 box set I had it all done within a couple of days. It really kept me glued to it. I like Season 1 best as it returns to the cabin where everything began. And Ash's sister Cheryl makes an appearance. She's great in this. Kind of creepy at times. Like one scene where Ash talks to his deadite sister outside (before blamming her with the shotgun). He said to her about how she locked him in the trunk of a car and wouldn't let him out when he was a kid. You see she takes joy in that memory. You see her turn her head slightly and give a sort of quick nod. I found that creepy. Lucy Lawless was also great as Ruby. I prefer the first incarnation of the Ruby character.The show expands the Evil Dead universe nicely. Adds depth to the characrers and backstory. I did laugh quite a few times. Mostly due to Campbell's one liners. They are some belters he fires out. Especially in Ruby's final scene in season three. He mocks her then utters a great line I can't post here through censorship then he turns and runs away. I think there is another line where a deadite says something to him about kissing him or something while she's attacking him. He comes back with "Fat ******* chance!" then retaliates in the attack against him.This is the Blu-ray set I have. It all works perfectly on my PS3. A certain review on here said they had 4 different box sets and it still didn't play right. If anyone has difficulty with playback. Then it's down to the device the discs are being played on. Blu-ray is known to have playback issues with some machines. So a firmware update is required. If it can't be obtained then the device won't be able to play said disc properly. It doesn't matter if other discs work. Some discs don't due to firmware. This is an issue not everyone thinks of or remembers.

If you enjoyed the well OTT Evil Dead films - you'll love this. From the days when I remember you could only rent the original film from under the counter in a brown paper bag! - having been declared a video 'nasty' - now comes the series in 30 mins Eps ( nett 26-7 mins) format! Bruce Campbell and many of the Raimi 'family' of actors and a few surprises are to be seen here. Great one liners as only The CHIN can deliver in his very unique fashion - expect laughable OTT Gore - Edgy one-liners (very un-PC at times!) - exceptional prosthetics for the 'demons' (and human dead 'uns), PLENTY of the RED STUFF, explosions, gunfire and prosthetic chainsaw action! - buy for £15 (incl del) - you will not be disappointed! Season 3 awaits tonight - if I don't wake up the house with laughter! Just go ahead and ENJOY! You know it makes sense - unless you can buy v.cheap on secondary/used market - buy 'new' at the price described!

I'm a big fan of the Ash Vs Evil Dead series. Very much prefer it to the movies! Love the jokes, banter and the costumes! Wish there was more series to come!

Bought this after binge watching series 1 & 2 on a popular streaming service that's not Amazon Prime.Shame it got cancelled, but series 3 did start to decline so maybe it was a blessing in disguise.If you like the bloody, horror, action, satire comedy of Army Of Darkness, as opposed to the sheer cheese fest that is the First two Evil Dead films, you'll love this!

if any1 can ASH CAN!! !! this combines extreme violence, hilarity, action, gore cheese more action and mean demonic dead people and forces it all into a bender until there is nothing left of its spinal cord this is 1 of the best seasons of anything that has been made recently. wont say too much but if you like ed2 or 3 this is gonna rock you!best epi are the evil dead. dark ones were ok but cant beat the evIl....

I love The Evil Dead Trilogy so of course I was gonna love this! One of my favourite TV Shows ever. We need more seasons though, it needs to be come back on the air ASAP! Recommended for any Bruce Campbell / Evil Dead fan like myself!

Bruce Campbell and the Evil Dead. Enough said, that’s a winning combination.Sadly joins the list of series’ that were cancelled we’ll before it’s time.This is a great box set at a keen price.

I loved this series, it had everything! It was funny, entertaining & gory...such a shame it only ran for 3 seasons. In fact, I liked this show so much that I have just ordered from Amazon ....the original film series. Great fun!
