Budget-Friendly Transmission that Punches Upward
I’ve previously used Hollyland Mars 400S Pro ($500) for my production but was recently intrigued by this product. After using it for a week through 4 different shoots, I recommend this to anyone who is looking for a budget conscious alternative. The Shimbol punches up to more expensive counterpart. It’s easy to setup and pair, features standard IO, and maintained connection well even in Time Square NYC where signal loss is common. The latency can be noticeable, but isn’t an issue when using as a second monitor. Battery lasts quite a long time on a standard NPF. I can walk about 200M out and sometimes still have transmission.Shimbol is really a piece of prosumer tech and I look forward to the next iteration that allows multi-RX setup.

Quirky but nice
Let's start with the dragon in the room. No, the units do not have dragons on them. That said, you can add dragons. What you get are two aluminum units (black plastic tops) that are a muted red color. In the box are also two stickers that you can choose to apply -- that's the dragons. Don't apply the stickers - no dragon. Apply the stickers - dragons. Just be careful to place the tail so that you can read the "TX" and "RX" designation. You get one transmitting (TX) and one receiving (RX) unit. The TX has one HDMI input and one HDMI output (passthrough). The RX has two HDMI outputs. This should allow for many configurations.I'll admit, I didn't fully test the range, but I did go to about 50' with three metal stud walls between the TX and RX without noticeable loss in signal quality. For my use, that's the more common case. The company claims 600', which I'm sure is in ideal conditions.Connecting was a little challenge. Really, the challenge is in lack of documentation. It comes with a "manual" (four-page pamphlet) and a QR code to the online manual (spoiler: same pamphlet). First time I used it, I got a big QR code on the RX side, and "Waiting..." I thought I wasn't connected and wasted time checking cables and connections. Turns out I was connected just fine, the video source just wasn't working for some reason. "Why didn't you scan the QR code for more information" I did! It brought up a website in all Chinese without any mention of the TP-Mini (even after translating).Switching out the video source, I suddenly had a picture. What I like:* Decent picture, no issues with artifacts or the like.* Nice build. The metal bodies should hold up in bags and the like.* Easy to see power level and connection (once you figure out the amber light)* Relatively light. By themselves (ignoring battery, if you use it) they don't add much weight to your setup. (TX - 3.9oz, RX - 3.8oz)What could use improvement:* Maybe a six-page manual (half-joking, but just some additional troubleshooting would be great)* The QR code they give you to go to the (same) manual doesn't include the TP Mini yet. You need to dig around their website to find the information.* When there is no source signal, a QR code that goes to a meaningful page* One USB C cord for two devices. Maybe include two, or, since people can have many different setups, none. But one just seems like a mistake. You will need to supply your power. Either standard USB C charging or NP-F battery. Since I source off a larger power supply, my testing was with USB C.Ultimately, for the price, it's hard to beat these. However, the setup, lack of documentation and QR codes that aren't the most helpful. I'm happy with them, but the setup experience, while not hard, was a bit disappointing. Once you get past that hump, enjoy!

Stylish and Simple to use
Functional-wise this is a pretty simple wireless video transmitter, you did not have much control over the channel, bit rate, etc. However, for the price it does just what I want, plug and play, simple enough for small performance or conference monitor and even live stream usage. The image quality is good, and connection is good enough for me, tested with 200ft and one wall in between, works with no issue. Also the design is simple but stylish.

very easy to use
this was literally a plug-and play product. Although these did not come with the batteries, and I can purchase them separately, they do have a USB charging port so that is a good thing. they only included one cable, but most of us probably have multiple cables hanging around, so that was a big dealbreaker. These do not come with the dragons already on the product their decals so you can put them on. I like the dragon so I definitely will be putting them on. The resolution is fairly decent when using this, and I didn’t see a major drop in video quality based on the price point of these items

Plug and Play with no set up
I was initially concerned when I saw the box didn’t include a manual, though there’s a QR code link to access it. Fortunately, I didn’t need it – setup was as plug-and-play as it gets.At first, I was a bit disappointed to find that specialty Sony camera batteries weren’t included, but I noticed the USB-C port, which is a great alternative. Only one cable was provided, and it requires two, but I have plenty of USB-A to USB-C cables, as I’m sure many do.You’ll need to supply your own HDMI cables, which makes sense since cable length depends on your setup. Luckily, I had some on hand, so I quickly connected everything: I plugged the HDMI cable into the unit as the source side (HDMI Input), and it lit up right away, instantly recognized by my laptop. On the receiving side, I connected the USB-C power and ran an HDMI cable from the unit (HDMI Out) to my 65” TV. The magic happened – it worked perfectly! My laptop screen mirrored to my TV with no setup, pairing, or additional steps, just selecting the proper input on my TV.I was also pleasantly surprised by the seamless sound integration. Watching YouTube, the video and audio quality on the TV were indistinguishable from my laptop. I’m thrilled with this product and can’t wait to enjoy Zoom meetings from my couch!
