Great small tool!
Very happy with my purchase! Scared by my very bad experience with another watt meter (please check my review for https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N3BACF2/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1), the first thing I did after receiving this one was to open it and check the wiring. I was pleasantly surprised to realize how neat the soldering of the wires was done inside the meter. Overal, construction appears very solid and thought through. The wires leading from the watt meter are 12 AWG with soft silicone isolation. Beware - soldering terminals to these wires requires a really powerful soldering iron or hot air station. I used hot air station as neither one of my soldering irons, including the 60 Watt one, would do the job. Anyway, after attaching terminal to the watt meter wires, I hooked it up to my quad sitting on the test stand and did a test run - everything worked perfectly!Couple of other points: a) I would recommend connecting a small battery (I used a 2S one with JST connector) to auxiliary port so that you may read and copy measured values after you disconnect main power, and b) in the instruction booklet on some of the pictures the polarity of the batter was reversed - ignore those pictures and follow the color of the wires - always red to red and black to black :)Enjoy your new purchase!

People need to learn to read instructions.
To all the idiots complaining that it does not read down to 0.0v with no load.....it clearly states in the manual that if u supply auxilary power to the servo connector it will read down to 0.0v. What do you think is powering the meter itself? magic? The meter works great.

Not a bad cheap meter and it appears to use the same basic board as several others. I bought two in order to simultaneously monitor the voltage and current from a portable solar panel to the charge controller and also from the controller to the battery. While I'd use something more sophisticated / expensive for a home solar system, for a small field use system this works fine. There seems to be around a 10 mA draw (at 12 volts) from the unit itself, so you might not want to leave it permanently in the circuit between a battery and a load if you need to minimize overall current drain for maximum battery life. When attaching your own connectors or terminals, consider first cutting a 1/4 inch or so off the end of the wires. The supplier tinned the wire ends to keep the strands together. However, the solder makes the diameter of the wire slightly larger and makes it harder to insert it into the crimp terminals. Removing this gives a better fit and permits a tighter crimp over the entire length of the wire that is inside the terminal. I found this to be the case with Anderson connectors and it is no doubt true for other types as well.

Works!
Mine is fairly accurate. Both voltage and amp output at around 40v and 5a was off only around 0.5v or 0.3a. If your application doesn't require extremely accurate measurements, and only a general indication of your amp output/voltage... this will probably serve you well. For my application... I don't need extremely accurate two significant figure readings... I only need to know approximate charge voltage... let me know if you are pumping 10A or 2A or somewhere around there... accurate to the half of a whole number. This works *GREAT* for me... and generally only being off around 0.3 units one way or the other is plenty great for me. Thanks... this was cheap, and works great.

Get one, then GYSOT
Everyone that is trying to match the perfect battery and motor combination needs this product. The price of this is even better. You will need to solder your own connectors on it but, they do include XT60s, these are the most popular in the RC aircraft area but, you may have a few other types so it’s nice to be able to do your own.It would be better however to have a plug already on it and include adapters to the top plug types but, this would increase cost. It’s great though and I do say get one, and while your at it get a thrust tester too to further your perfect motor battery combination.
