Our home is 50+ years old. I decided it was time to replace most all the outlets in our basement. They needed to be updated being so old that they had become hazardous or not to updated code.None of the old receptacles in our basement are GFCI. Current code specifies that most should be. This 10 pack is wonderful as it should take care of everything and I'll likely have a few spares.The only thing I don't like with these are the screws for the wires. They sit loosely when they are unscrewed/extended - they'll slide in and out. All of the ones I've used in the past, the screws do not move. This makes it a little challenging when connecting the wires - you pretty much have to hold the outlet up with the screw hanging and then slip your wire around it and screw in. It adds another dimension of difficulty. Aside from that, the outlets feels sturdy, appear to be good quality, and again, the price is unbeatable for GFCI outlets.Pictures are before and after.

I ordered this outlet to replace an old standard one in need of GFCI one. The first one I received was defective but received a replacement just one day later! It was easy for my boyfriend to install and so far has held up really well. It works exactly as described! It looks sleek & modern but also feels safer. The price is about average compared to other GCFI outlets on Amazon ($13 for 1 ct. 20 amp GFCI outlet in White at the time of writing this review). Overall, I’m super happy with this outlet so far and would highly recommend!

Used to replace defective unit

First thing I noticed is no side plates . They are just screws like the old style, with push in holes at the back. The holes at the back do fit stripped 12 gauge though the plate on the inside is movable . You might have to press your screw in while inserting the wire or you could get behind the metal plate and have a false clamp. They are easy to use with the right size wire but if you have something little thicker or bent up and not enough to straighten you may have to loop a ear around a screw it's no plate. Which is inconvenient. Functionality for installation could be improved by adding a side clamp plate on the outside so I knocked a star off. Modern GFCI sold in stores often have side plates. The qaulity of the plugs is good, stiff easy to plug in and out no loose connections . The cost saving for an outdoor receptacle seem worth it.

We updated our kitchen and baths and went with white plugs and switches. These work great, easy wiring from the back.

I got this to be installed outside on my house, being outside, even inside an outdoor outlet box, you want a GFCI in any location where moisture could be present! This is a 20amp outlet, which is what I want for my outdoor breaker box (I have a dedicated box outdoors that feeds my mini split and at the time a shed but that's no longer there) I wanted a 20amp so I could use my electric push mower, as well as any power tools or things like a power washer, etc, without having to worry about tripping it. Might be over kill, as I don't know that I'd ever be using anything that draws a full 20amps or not, but I feel like this can handle it and Its such a great price for a quality gfci outlet! I also like the black color! Its slightly thinner than older ones which I like. Will fit in the box easier! I haven't had them installed yet, so I'm hoping that I didn't get a dud as one reviewer did, we'll have to see once I get them put in and update then!
