This is a great product. Even if I could not find company information.I raise chickens and incubate the larger eggs. It Is important to havethe eggs at about 100 degrees. After using this, I gained confidence.At first it was confusing. Eggs were at different temperatures aroundthe incubator. But when I "zapped" some eggs outside the incubatorthey were all consistent! The incubator lacked a fan so it turns outthat there must be cold spots! I believe the provided thermometermounted on a somewhat large piece of clear plastic creates someof the cold spots!!!It is unusual that I could not find any company information, especiallysince they require registration for their warranty. So where wouldproblems be mailed or called?Even so, I check my incubating eggs often.Well it has been some time since I purchased this thermometerand now it is failing. It is under reporting temperatures.I have tried several new batteries and it still isunder reporting.It appears that the only way to contact CH Engineering isto ask a question. I did and have not gotten a response as of 3/18/2015.It was purchased on January 18, 2015 using Amazon.So I can no longer recommend this product.It has a short life.But it was great while it worked.

The Infrared Thermometer works great. My son needed it to test the temp. of the heat emitted from different chemicals while burning. The product is easy to hold, light, and accurate. This company CH Engineering Products, also went out of their way to help me when I thought I was having a delivery issue. I needed the product quickly, and ordered two day delivery. I thought that the product had not be delivered in the promised time. I emailed and complained, The company called and not only ordered me a new one, but when they found out that it couldn't get it to me quickly enough, they personally went to the post office to over-night the product, and called me from the post office early in the morning to let me know. I had checked my mail that morning before he called, and it had been in my mail box all along. I absolutely love the product, and because of the company's outstanding customer service, I will order from them again, and again!!!!!!!

Before I even talk about the thermometer I must praise the customer service of CH Engineering Products. They are seriously concerned with your satisfaction, the packaging is perfect for storage, and it is covered under warranty. They remain in contact with you to make sure you aren't having any problems and I have yet to experience this level of service from an online vendor.The thermometer is perfect for soap makers who need fast readings without wasting time wiping off candy thermometers. The thermometer has a decent accuracy at several feet away, the led backlight is perfect for dark rooms, the laser ensures you aren't missing the target, and the battery compartment fits very snug. This is one of the best infrared thermometers for under 50$! I am amazed that I got such a quality product for just a fraction of the cost of other similar models.

Please note that this review is not about product performance, but on design. In spite of reading the FAQs and other reviews, I had a tough time opening the battery compartment. Others had suggested squeezing at the indentation and pull the swing out door. I tried hard and wasn't successful. After carefully grabbing it near the yellow indentation with my handy-dandy quick release locking plier, I was able to open it. Then only I realized that I could have pried this open near the indentation instead of going through all of these hassles. As you may be able to see from the pictures, it is almost solid block of plastic near the indentation and there is a small circular recess. There is also a matching circular extrusion on the interior of the door to allow it stay in place once closed. The manufacturer's instructions assume that this is trivial and therefore don't address it, despite frequent complaints. I still think my three stars rating is very generous.

I feel so... special with this.I've been making ice cream this summer, and most of the gelato recipes are based on a cooked custard that has to come to a specific temperature. I've got one of those little "instant" thermometers, but you know how they are -- you have to keep putting them, looking at the teensy dial and then taking the temperature of something that you're trying to keep from boiling over.This solves all of those pesky issues and gives an easy to read number that can influence what you do next. And, it just looks cool to use it. Its one tool in your kitchen that your friends will be impressed with.

works alright. Probably not the most accurate thing in the world but i haven't tested that so I can't really say. It's accurate enough to get good low-temp dabs and to distinguish between hot water and scalding water. In other words, it does what I need it to do. I've been using it for a month now, probably a little more, with only the first 9v. screen is good though the viewing angles suck. The laser aims high at close range. All in all i'm happy with my purchase.

Very handy and useful. I am the owner of a plumbing company and successfully used this affordable infrared temperature gun. I located a hot water leak under a concrete slab with the push of a button, by finding the hottest spot on the concrete. After removing the concrete and dirt, I located the leak exactly where this infrared temp. gun showed me the highest temperature.Very pleased with the follow-up email of the seller, giving helpful hints for using this product, and also assuring me of the warranty and total customer satisfaction of this infrared temperature gun. Completely satisfied!

I can't count the number of times i've used this to hunt down a leak or prove a server room is not cool enough. It's also quite entertaining, ever wonder how hot that sidewalk is? The bath water? Your CPU?
