Slide-away handgun safe with Biometric Finger Vein Lock, Quick-Access, Under Desk Drawer Gun Safe for Home and Vehicle, 2 Pistols Safe Box, CA DOJ Approved (Store 50)

This safe is fantastic! It was very easy to install with a solid mounting bracket. It fits discreetly under my desk or can be put on top of a shelf for easy, quick access. The vein recognition technology is surprisingly easy to set up and very reliable. It hasn't failed me after dozens of attempts! I also like the extra layers of foam to custom fit my Glock 19. I am very pleased with this safe and will be looking for other items offered by MaxSafes!

I wanted a low profile pistol safe that slid out of the front. This is perfect. It looks like part of my nightstand and is easily accessible. You have the option to turn the beeping sound off when entering the code or using the fingerprint scanner. The size is pretty for a pistol and extra mags. You could probably get 2 in there but it would be tight. If you take your time, the foam cut easily for the outline of whatever you want to put in. It functions exactly how I'd hoped, fingerprint for quick access or a 4 digit code if your not in a hurry.

This is a well built under the desk gun safe. I prefer the low profile this gun safe provides. It's spacious enough to store a full size hand gun and several magazines or two hand guns (1 fullsize and 1 subcompact) with at least two magazies properly organized. However, my only complaint is the finger scan system.The finger scan did not work consistently. I programmed several fingers to open safe and within a few weeks later some of the programmed fingers would open safe. Most of the time the stored finger scan was a hit or miss. Not sure if moisture or humidity plays a factor in using the finger scan. The keypad works great and without issue. It's the inconsistency of using the finger scan that concerns me. I will continue to monitor the finger scan system for this safe to see how consistent it is or is not using the finger scan to open safe.Note, if there are too many failed attempts using the finger scan, it will go into alarm mode and beep for awhile. Using the key to manually unlock the safe will open safe as well as silence the alarm. FYI- when mounting safe allow for adequate space to unlock safe with key from the rear.

Only a couple of glitches but, once worked out with their service department, it works great. First problem. There is a bracket attached to the safe that you're "supposed to be able to remove" by pushing it backwards and lifting it off the safe. I tried that. For a 1/2 hour. There is a 1/4" piece of white foam between the bracket and the safe. There is NO WAY you can slide off that bracket unless/until you remove the white foam piece. I used the end of a pencil to push it out. THEN you can remove it.. On the front where you put your finger in the reader to open it, they don't tell you that you have to put your finger ALL the way in otherwise it won't work. So, as I said, once these minor glitches were worked out, it works great. It's a heavy duty safe (and heavy) and it does the job.

Most of the quick access finger print reader not working well, which will defeat the purpose of quick access. This one works really well, after the registration, it works reliably .Some minor thing, first the big logo plate on the front is somehow annoying , you can see I removed that, my suggestion is to provide a black battery cover in case people don’t want that.Also the mechanical key over ride is too high in the back , it will be blocked by the table structure ‘, it is not a big deal for me since the passcode and finger print works well.

I was able to get everything set up and my passcodes and vein registrations done with no issues. The packaging was great, very well done. Safe opens like it should and I like that the key is in the back. Overall works well and it fits a full size pistol and magazine with no issues. I like the undermount as it works for me.The bad, the biometrics vein recognition is sketchy at best. It works maybe 50% of the time. If there were ever a situation where I had to get instant access on the 1st try, I wouldn't use the vein recognition, I would use the keypad. I have tried registering my vein multiple times and it doesn't help.I always try the vein recognition first, but probably 50% of the time after a couple failed attempts, I just use the keypad.Ultimately still happy with the purchase, I wanted this format and there aren't a lot of undermount safe's like this.

Very well built, strong materials, and easy to use.The templates provided were excellent. Thick card stock. I taped it under my desk exactly were I wanted the gun safe. The bracket went right on. The safe slipped right in, the drawer slipped right in.Set up of the number combination was super simple as was the biometric. It opens flawlessly and stays out of the way inconspicuous and handy.I would have given it 5 stars but only owned it one day so far.I'm very satisfied with this product.

Good quality casing, however the fingerprint/ vein reader is unreliable. Have set it up three times already as indicated by the instructions but cant get it to unlock after a few hours later. Programmed it to read all my fingers and still wouldnt work after initial set up.
