What a cutie!! It does everything it's supposed to do. It takes 3AA and 2AAA batteries. I just got it so I don't know how long the batteries will last. I got the female version, with a tutu and a cute, small hat on her head. It's very enjoyable; the bark isn't very loud and the music is pleasant. She only walks on flooring not carpet. She also has several accessories that children will have fun using on her. I'm going to buy another to give as a gift.

I was pleasantly surprised when I received the puppies. They are good quality, so cute, and easy to operate. The noise level is low, which is a huge plus for me. The price is great. I highly recommend them.

The golden retriever mechanical puppy arrived in a timely fashion with no problems. Everything worked great, except the puppy didn't walk right away. I think the fur over the battery compartment got crimped in its back leg because it was definitely humming like it was on. After rechecking the batteries and shifting the fur, it has worked fine ever since. This pup was definitely the cutest one I saw in that the battery compartment is covered with fur on the belly instead of being bare plastic. It's amazing all the different things it can do. The only negative is that it didn't come with a leash. But it came with a bunch of interactive accessories. The walking feature works, but they're very small steps. You could not take it on a real walk around the block unless you have an hour to kill. Regardless, my 3 y.o. granddaughter LOVED her new puppy and carried it around all day. I think she liked the tail wagging and barking features the most. The adults were impressed with the commands and tricks and that it could repeat sentences spoken to it. Highly recommend.

Good toy for a 5+ year old - our girl really has a great time with it. It is a bit unpredictable in what it does, as it has several modes of control that can get a bit confusing for the kiddo. The remote works well, pretty reliable (but stay close to the doggy - range is pretty limited). It's not very huggable - has just a cloth cover over the mechanics. The 'pat the head' function is always active, which is a big help in 'resetting' the dog to a known state. The voice replay is fun but a bit lacking for a kid's voice - it seems to raise the voice an octave, so kid's voice gets very squeaky and hard to understand. Talking at it in a low voice, loud, slowly gives best results - if you care to understand what it's saying. Kids will probably just laugh at it regardless of how intelligible it is. It seems a bit delicate - would not give it to a younger child who could not understand 'treat it gently', it probably would not survive all that long. Dog needs 3 AA batteries, which last a reasonable time; control needs 2 AAA batteries. Both have 'hard' on/off switch, which will preserve the batteries - if you can get someone to actually remember to turn them off. Its movements are pretty cute, tag wags strongly. Does not walk that well on some surfaces - depends on the surface texture. The 'sit' action is very cute and so far reliable. So it's not a perfect / indestructable toy, but can be lots of fun anyway.

We got all 5 grandkids these and they loved them!!! Easy to use with only two buttons. My grandkids are 6,4,2,18 months and 15 months and this was a great gift for all of them. The velcro is kinda tough to pull apart, which is good so little fingers cant get to the batteries, but we did pull some of the stitching apart bc of that. The dogs did all the commands and walks great even on the carpet and a sandy beach!
