When I first saw this I was not sure what it was. But then I realized it shoots Orbeez type water balls. We are not a gun family, and this looks a little intimidating, like a BB gun or something. But it is only for gel balls. So I thought my 14 year old was at an age he would have some fun with it.it comes with LOTS of beads/balls. You have to give them several hours to expand, so do not expect to use it right out of the box.it comes with 3 sizes of ball holder/cartridges/magazines that all hold different amounts. They do have "doors" that open a little bigger than the hole where the balls come out, to make loading the balls a little easier. But my son still spilled several balls, even using a funnel from home (I recommend using a funnel to load them or it will take a while and you will have even more balls everywhere).This uses a rechargeable battery for the attached flashlight and for the shooter.There is some assembly required, but not too much. The battery comes charged which is nice. It always stinks when you get something and have to wait to use it for hours while a battery charges.There is a loud noise when it shoots. I am not sure it it is electronically added or is just what it sounds like, but it is loud and scares one of our more delicate dogs. If you hold the trigger down it will shoot them out rapid fire and that is what is noisiest. But you can try to just quickly press the trigger to shoot one at a time. My son is getting the hang of that. But he is having fun with the rapid fire.I am not sure how much these would hurt if you shoot someone with the balls. Certainly they would not hurt like a BB or other type of projectile. But I am sure they would still sting. He shot his own palm and said ouch (because he did not think they were coming out the first time he used it), but it did not cause any mark or anything that truly hurt bad enough for concern. However, this is a projectile that comes out at a high speed. It does sound like a BB gun. And you could definitely hurt someone if you hit them in the wrong place. So I would keep that in mind when determining if your child is old enough or responsible enough to not aim or shoot at anyone. It could damage an eye for sure. This is not a toy in the sense that it shoots these out slowly. It is a battery powered shooter and the balls go at least 30-40 yards (probably more), the length of our whole backyard, and they shoot out at a high speed. It sounds like paintballs hitting my patio glass door...so pretty fast.This is a really fun shooter that I never knew existed until I saw this one. My son loves Orbeez and this is right up his alley. It is age appropriate for him (14). He is having fun shooting it in our backyard.

Was excited to get this and when I got it put together it wouldn't feed the gel balls through the magazine, wouldn't shoot balls at all! Really disappointed! Sending it back!

The media could not be loaded. It has some weight to it. Shoots pretty decent. Flashlight is decently bright. The battery came charged. This is the best feeling gel blaster.

There are a lot of accessories that come with this blaster! You're supplied with plenty of ammo (which requires soaking to reach it's full size), 3 different size magazines, safety glasses, a flashlight attachment and arm sights.The flashlight attachment doubles as the battery holder for the gun, which I thought was a nice touch. Out of sight for a clean look. The flashlight itself is fairly bright and added to the overall feel of the item. I couldn't get the arm sight to stay attached. It slides on and is "locked' in place with a plastic peg. It felt loose every time I tried to place it so I left mine off.The recoil of the item isn't bad by any means so it simulates the motion minus the heft of actual recoil. There's a red safety switch on the right side that locks the trigger, preventing accidental fire. On the left side of the grip is your magazine release. It feels solid in hand, releasing the chosen magazine with ease.Loading is easy and with everything snapping together and in place, this is a great item for enthusiasts and hobbyists alike!

These gel blasters are so much fun! More entertaining for adults than you would expect. My husband and brother had a blast shooting around the backyard with this. They set up some targets and just splattered away.

This impressed me. I wasn't sure what to expect. But it's built well. First of all it comes with so much extra stuff. Everything you need to start playing right outta the box. Different clips including a drum, which is everyones favorite. And a good amount of the gel beads, like over 20,000 I believe. The only downside I've noticed is having to wait on the beads to soak, about 3hrs. And if you're shooting indoors, obviously it's gonna be messy, when the beads bust. But it's fun for the kids, it was even fun for me. It's really easy to use, and I definitely appreciate the safety they included on the gun.Definitely a fantastic value for all the extras you get, I will be purchasing another for my daughter. I definitely recommend.
