This product is the Purdue Pegboard and is an aid in the selection and rehabilitation for employees for various types of manual labour. It does this by measuring gross finger movements in the fingers, hands and arms and fine fingertip dexterity which is necessary in assembly tasks. The testing applications include occupational therapy, pre-employment screening, vocational evaluation and physical therapy. It is ideal for injury rehabilitation and is used by occupational and physical therapists. The changes to a baseline measurement can be used to chart progress in recovery from injury or the onset of a disability. The pegboard can be used as a screening tool by employers to determine a candidates aptitude and ability where a specific job needs manual dexterity. Tests are run when you use the Purdue Pegboard along with a set of pins, washers and collars. The subjects are required to run through a series of timed tests where they place the pins into the pegboard using one hand and then the other. The kit includes a pegboard, pins, washers and collars. A stopwatch will also be required for testing however is not included within this kit.
