Not waterproof!! EDIT: is waterproof, IP67 rating
I spent a long time comparing the various (but very similar!) USB otoscopes sold through Amazon, and one of my deciding criteria was the unit being waterproof. This one has been advertised as waterproof, however, the instruction manual tells me clearly that it is not waterproof. I could have bought a non-waterproof one with same other spec for cheaper. Disappointed. Otherwise, it works well and as expected, although either the real resolution or megapixels in the chip isn't enough for a clear (non-blurred) image. Maybe also look for units with a shorter focal length than the advertised 1.4-2cm.EDIT: The seller contacted me to explain that an instruction manual for another otoscope had been included in my package by mistake; they have shown me a photo of the correct instruction manual for this particular unit, stating it is waterproof. So, quality control might not be top of the list, however, for the relatively cheap price this device works well enough, and connects with no problem to my iPhone 6 (WiFi) and MacBook Pro (wired).

Impressed by the product
I bought this to check for ear wax. I was very skeptical about it, but It worked! This device was very easy to setup and works very well with my Iphone. I could clearly see all the way into my ears to the ear drum. The lens’ diameter is small enough to insert into small areas. The image is good and clear!

I was quite skeptical before I bought this product but I am very pleasantly surprised.it not only can take picture from my ear and clean it when I put on the cotton swab sticks. also can take picture as an inspection camera on my car.

good
I get a lot of problems with my ears. so I wanted to be able to see inside to see if there was excessive wax or an infection. This works perfect. Picture is clear enough to see what’s going on. The kit comes with everything you’d need including a few sterile wipes. Very pleased.

Handy and clear otoscope for use with iPhone
My daughter gets frequent ear infections but as she can't talk, it is not until the ear perforates that I realise she has an infection. My daughter has a high pain threshold so although a little off, nothing obvious until the pus runs from her ear. I researched otoscopes and decided on one I could connect to my phone so I could take photos and monitor progression to make an informed choice as to when to request antibiotics. This is a 23 year ongoing saga btw. I chose this particular one as this is iPhone friendly. This is because it is Bluetooth enabled rather than a cable. This gadget is fabulous, the image is so clear. When no infection present, I can see the drum clearly, scarring from previous infections and where grommets used to be! Getting used to how to move the otoscope takes a little used to as it takes a while to gather your bearings and work out your subtle movements but you get there in the end. To connect you have to open the camera app on your phone and wait for the otoscope to connect, so any image from the scope is not instantaneous so you will need it connected before putting it in the ear (or anywhere else you are examining). Charging is via a USB cable. Camera is easy to clean but I did buy some alcohol wipes to disinfect after usage.
