Rutland County Garden Furniture - Oakham Picnic Bench - Heavy Duty Pub Style Table and Bench - Ideal For Gardens And Patios (8 ft, Rustic Brown)

Initially thought that the £25 quid delivery was a bit steep but when the front door went 2 hours into the date i was promised i was pleasantly surprised to be greeted by a young man who, in my mother tongue i might add, (not Polish, Hungarian, Ukrainian, Romanian,Lithuanian or any other nationality who appear routinely at my door with parcels!) informed me that he had walked my new table down the side to the back gate to make it easier for me to move round the back! he got an extra fiver for old fashioned courtesy! After carrying the 3 parcels round the back and after a 10 min break to change into my hernia support pants i set about unpacking it ( I recently promised that i would rather have chemotherapy on my brain stem rather than attempt another flat pack deal!), very easy and the whole thing went together perfectly in a bout 20 mins with one tool (excluding me). Top quality bit of kit! wife love the smell of the freshly treated wood but since the cat has just sprayed up each leg just to remind it who's garden it is-that don't figure anymore,anyway, over the moon with my new table, far superior quality to anything I've slipped under at the local pubs and fetes.TIP: set the seat panels back a bit when fixing, less likely to feel like you sitting in some medieval stocks waiting to have stuff thrown at you just for letting farmer Wilson's prize ewe try on those new wellies last month! (no imagination these village types!).

Bench came in 3 parts. Parts were well packaged and protected against damage. Driver was super helpful, bringing it into back garden, but does need 2 people to move each part, as they are quite heavy. Easy to build (2 people required) and instructions online were helpful. Bench is big enough to sit 6 people, or 8 children. Seems sturdy and well made. Overall pleased with bench. I would recommend buying this bench.

Immensely sturdy, and easy to put together (1 spanner required, and the supplied coach screws are high quality, making the process straightforward). Clear instructions, and an accurate estimate of the delivery date was given (delivery took about 2 weeks which was fine - I expect that for hand-made wood products).One thing guys- for future orders can you add a few spare ones of those black plastic screw-caps ? Some come off in transit and never make it out of the black plastic wrapping. It's only an aesthetic thing but it would have been nice to have the whole set.

Ordered and then tried to contact the seller to see if they could make a bigger hole to accomodate a bigger umbrella. I had no reply. Took a while for delivery but delivered with clear instructions - easy to put the pieces together. The colour was not quite the rustic brown I imagined. Looked sturdy and exactly what we needed for our outside area. Was dissapointed with quality of product lifespan after 3 months so contacted seller who was very helpful and sent replacement parts at no cost (which were noticebly more brown- what I expected in the fist place) I would recommend you use a good quality protective oil on setup to protect from possible issues. Thanks to the seller for the good service in fixing our problem

I liked it for its sturdyness, what I dislike is the bench top is beginning to split in places!

I've always had a picnic bench on my patio as you can leave them out in all weathers and they double up as a work bench/potting table/you name it too. My last one did me proud for about ten years but the legs finally gave up the ghost and it was off to the tip with it last week.I chose this item because of the sturdy looking construction and basically I liked the colour. It turned up in three packages, strangely wrapped in black plastic but luckily undamaged. Being delivered in three parts made it easier to carry through the house into my back garden so that actually worked out well.Construction was straightforward (with help from a friend) and basically involved screwing in 16 pretty huge screws (10cm and 8cm) then finishing off with the screw caps provided. The legs, bench and table top are pre-built. A torque wrench with 10mm socket and strong wrists are required. No tools or written instructions are provided - you will need to print off the 1-page pdf doc the seller mails you. Once up I was very impressed with its rock solid build and I love the colour. Importantly the table top is nice and wide ditto the bench which could be useful if you have "ample" friends. Five feet long is a good size for four and possibly six at a squeeze. The parasol hole is a perfect fit too.Downside is the finish is not great with sharp corners and some rough edges. I had to give it a once over with the sander followed by a couple of coats of teak oil to improve its appearance but I'm happy with the way it looks now and have already enjoyed some al fresco dinners (and plenty of DIY lol) on it. I have also painted the lower legs (including the underside) with bitumen paint up to the six inch level to help combat the inevitable rotting caused by rain and snow which did for my last table.

Definitely Beer Garden quality❗It comes in 3 sections and one section requires at LEAST one man to carry it❗It seats 6 (large) adults easily. It has exceeded my expectations in every way❗The weight & density of the wood and the quality of the manufacture are unsurpassable.Very comfortable to sit at. I'm going to buy another one for EXTRA large family gatherings❗

This picnic table is sturdily built and quite straightforward to assemble, although there were no instructions. Delivery was made, without any glitches, to our remote country cottage in the depths of Wales, on the arranged day. We are very pleased with the quality and value for money of this item.
