These gate sensors work pretty well: I've had only a few false positives when pigeons have flown past. You may need to work on sensitivity of them to deal with this (there's no way of doing this on the sensors themselves, so you'll need to deal with that with whatever device you hook them up to).One of the units is the emitter (light source) the other the detector. The pair offers only a single beam: you'll get fewer false positives with the ones that have dual beams, but these were cheaper and better looking so I thought I'd try them out and I'm pretty pleased with them. The o-ring is a bugger to get in place but once seated it stays there. The terminal block offers both NO (normally open) and NC (normally connected) terminals for the integrated relay so you can use whatever your device needs.I'm driving them on a 12V 300ma PSU and they're working just fine.
