1 year ive had it for
had this for 1 year. Never had issues with it. Many times i accidentally slept with the pc on with my DAW (Digital Audio Workstation), Which uses alot of CPU usage. Never had an issue.Very quiet too. Pc never overheated. Great for price

Great compact CPU cooler
Cooler master hyper H412R, Compact. If you need a compact CPU cooler in order to keep a high wattage CPU, greater than 65W, cool than this is the one. I put this cooler on an AMD Ryzen 5 3600x. This CPU is rated at 95W. This cooler is keeping the CPU in the 70C - 75c range under high intensity gaming. This case I am using has very low air circulation. this case itself only has two fans. This CPU cooler may keep your CPU cooler than mine.I've had the larger version of this cooler on the same CPU, different case, and the larger version kept the CPU in the 60C - 65C range. The two-fan model kept the CPU in the mid 50C range. If you have no reason to get this compact model, then get the larger version. If you need a compact version than this CPU works well.

Best in Class
Great value. Easy to install. Temps are much lower.

Last one survived 10 years... let's hope for the same with a new one
All things considered, this is a great fan/heatsink combo. It comes with the hardware to mount it on either an Intel or AMD board. It keeps my CPU relatively cool around 37 C when idle. (I also have 2 intake and 2 output fans going) The newer model (2022) is a little smaller than the one I bought back in 2014. That's a good thing in my book. The last one lasted me about 10 years (probably went out earlier this year before I noticed it) Well worth the money

Easy Install, Difficult Mounting
First off the cooler is very good, I get ~30c on idle compared to before I was getting 40-45c. Under load I get max of about 65c whereas before I would be getting in the high 80s-90s. There is very little noise that comes out of the fan, although I haven’t seen in on 100% speed because it keeps it cool enough to not ramp it up. The mounting is rather difficult as sometimes the spring on the mounting screw will decide to not cooperate, and will not screw in. But it only takes about 20 minutes, it comes with a small tube of thermal paste, 2 mounting brackets for intel and 2 for amd.

Made it work
I have a AMD A8-7600 Radeon R7, 10 Compute Cores 4C+6G 3.10 GHz CPU. FM2 socket mother board which uses the strap. I notice this cooler has the cut outs at the bottom of the cooler. So I took my old strap and ran it through and it worked. I faced my cooler fan up. Works better then my old cooler.

Need additional bracket for lga 1700 motherboard and it is not cool enough for i5-13600kf
The thing does not come with a lga1700 bracket so I ended up purchase one from somewhere else. Also, it cannot keep my 13600kf cpu cool. When using CPUburner, the clock speed of CPU is reduced to 4.8 GHz instead of 5.1 GHz because it's temperature is reaching 100 degree Celsius.

Not bad price and is quiet.
I will give it 5 stars though it seemed harder to install than it should have been. Instruction was hard to figure out. Once I got the right parts together it was over and done with easy. If it had just used the original bracket it would have been much easier to install. Though this setup is much more solid and quieter than the other. My Corsair 100i liquid 2 fan radiator cooler went out on me. This was a good much quieter replacement. Only a few degrees less colling. And much cheaper to replace if I need to again as I got two on accident. And I plan to keep it as an extra or just in case I need it for another PC I plan to build soon. If you have the money get two as they are not that costly just in case parts are missing or you lose them that helps. I lost one part only to realize I did not need it after all. As it has many parts for both INTEL and AMD CPUs.
