Classic Hot Chocolate Collection

I needed 3 hot chocolates to accompany fancy marshmallows I purchased as hostess gifts for Thanksgiving. When I saw this on Oprah's holiday list, buying was a no brainer.When the box arrived, I thought, "Good thing I wasn't buying the trio as a gift. This box has been through it to look this trashed." When I removed the box, the canisters were in great shape and much larger than expected. I included a picture of a canister in my large hand (that wears an 8.5 glove).As they are gifts, my review does not consider taste, only appearance.

My family is obsessed. We absolutely love French Broad chocolate. This is one of the best gifts to send and you can feel great because you’re supporting a company that’s truly good for the planet.Plus, they are based in Asheville, which was hit hard by Hurricane Heléne. Given this, you’re supporting a company that needs the support this holiday season. 🎁

The hot chocolate is over rated. It tastes good, nothing spectacular. Overpriced. Great containers though.

Getting it open damages the pretty packaging. Good taste, but pricy. I bought it to support them after Hurricane Helene, but I haven't ever spent that much for hot chocolate, and probably won't again.

The package was delivered but by the time I got home the box and packaging was shredded and one canister was open. Since it was pure chocolate there are squirrels being more squirmy than usual.

French Broad Chocolate is an Asheville, NC landmark. Over the years they’ve grown from a sleepy chocolate shop to a larger space but they’ve never forsaken the quality of the items they produce.I was so excited to see them make Oprah’s Best Of list this year. Like other parts of Asheville, they got hit pretty hard from Hurricane Helene.They are known for their hot chocolate and drinking chocolate. The flavors and rich and velvety and are on par with anything you’d get in a more metropolitan area. This hot chocolate is so rich and delicious.You can tell that it’s all bean to bar and made with natural ingredients. If you’re looking for a holiday gift this is a great choice.

I didn't typically drink hot chocolate - perhaps because I was accustomed to hot cocoa (which is fine, but is really a different thing all together). This beverage is more like a thin chocolate lava, and is to be savored not only for its flavor, but its aroma, consistency, and luciousness. It is a wonderful indulgence. As for their other products, especially their chocolate bars and bon-bons, they are on a par with, or better than any you can find anywhere in the world. And in an industry sometimes criticized for its exploitative agriculture and labor, they place a priority on knowing the people and businesses along the length of their supply chain and choose providers who not only supply them with the highest quality ingredients, but who also engage in ethical business practices. But in the end, it is the products themselves that will sell you.
