Good price, especially for the quality!
Lasting more that 2 times longer than the OEM part, strong start every time, no problems. The OEM part lasted just over a year, we have had this new one for over 2 years now, and all I had to replace on it was the starter gear. But cheap part, and easy fix!

... it bolted right up to the lawnmower and worked perfect. A starter is a starter
Received this starter and it bolted right up to the lawnmower and worked perfect. A starter is a starter. The reason I'm giving it 5 stars is the fast and immediate help (customer service) I received. The starter I took off did not look exactly like the one I was sent. Just took a few minutes with customer service to verify that the new one I had in hand would fit and work. BAM! like a champ. Great company, good product, excellent customer service.

HIGH TORQUE !!! Supplied by DB Electrical starter has a .9kw rating BIG POWER
Got a Hustler Fastrak zero turn with a bad engine (was told cam was flat but I never researched it Mower came with a used Briggs and Stratton 22 HP Intek engine I finished installation and got 2 years of use out of it before a cranking issue reared it's ugly head I would have to get the engine past compression to get it to crank over without stopping I did a couple of days of research on Internet and Amazon and picked this starter based on 2 features it has .9 kw of power and it is about 3/4# heavier than the others (after getting it the body length is 1/2" longer Installation was a breeze and it cranks that 22 hp at almost idle speed As you can probably tell I couldn't be happier It's like comparing an old school gm v8 starter to a gm HIGH TORQUE starter Make sure you have that extra half inch of clearance for length

Very powerful starter
My starter died after ten years of service so I ordered a new one. Shipping was fast and the part was a perfect fit. The plastic gear is total crap. It only lasted two starts! But I read a review before a bought it and got two new gears on the same day, now it runs great. If you order it, get replacement gears that are stronger because the gear on this one will die fast!

Keep your old starter gear assembly if you buy this one.
Starter motor installs easily and seems to work well, however the gear that engages the flywheel is plastic in this model, whereas the original is metal. It worked OK for about 6 months (i've had it for a year but sat on it for 6 months) and then it stripped out completely and would not engage anymore (see picture). It's working fine otherwise and spins the flywheel with more authority than the original that it replaced. I would recommend taking off the metal 'C' clip that holds on the gear and exchange the plastic gear on this one for your metal gear on your original. You will probably need the whole gear assembly, at least in my case the metal gear would not fit on the plastic gear's grooved shaft (inside the spring as seen in the side profile picture).*note regarding the images: The starter in the pics looks well used because I reinstalled the new gear assembly onto my old starter in the event I need to use any of the other parts, or reference assembly order in the future.

Fixed my 2004 John Deere L120
This replaced the dead starter motor on my L120 with a Briggs & Stratton 406777-0128-E1 series engine - number is on the cowling in the bar code. The motor is held in place with two torx style bolts that are challenging to extract and refit. The left screw is not too bad but the right one is actually slightly behind the fly weight on the starter motor. You can't get a regular socket on them because the engine body gets in the way - the starter is slightly recessed. If you have a torx set I guess you are golden, but I did not. However...... a long series 5mm Allen wrench will fit the fixing screws.https://www.amazon.com/Eklind-14610-Long-Hex-L-Key/dp/B000GAOAFKI used a magnet on the shaft of the allen wrench to hold the screw on the end of the wrench while threading it into place on the right side.

Pleasantly surprised
I ordered this for my (much) older Montgomery Wards riding lawn mower not sure if it would work. It did look close but wasn't specifically listed as a replacement for the number on my starter. Was pleasantly surprised it worked wonderfully and they even supplied thick washers so I could use the original mounting bolts even though the flange on this one wasn't as thick as the original.

Poor design
The shipping was fine and the price was good and the item was exactly what was represented. My complaint about these starters is that they aare poorly designed. It doesnt make any sense to me why a manufacturer would make the spindle at the top of the Starter out of plastic when it has to engage a metal flywheel and spin it to turn the engine over. This is the third starter I have had to replace in 2 years, Not because of the starter motor, but because the plastic gear wears completely smooth and will not spin the flywheel. Starter motor works great, Plastic parts that have to spin heavy metal one is a poor design to me. I wish I knew why they use it. Maybe its a cost issue. There has to be a lot of these starters out there that work fine but have the plastic gear stripped out and are useless. I could not find anyone as well who just sold that part (metal one) so as to replace it on a perfectly good starter. I believe that this part of the starter being changed to a metal or at least a substance stronger than this plastic that is currently used that this starter would last a very long time. This maybe the secret to keep you buying them. Hmmm!

Must say it works good, but.....
I read the reviews on this starter and decided to buy it because the biggest complaint was that the gear either broke or stripped. I didn't care too much about this because I happened to have a couple spare ones that I used on the old starter. I just replaced the one on this starter with one of the extra's I had and it works like a charm. These gears are readily available and cheap, so if you buy this inexpensive starter, just buy a few spare gears and even do as I did and replace it before you install it. You might even be able to use the one off your old starter. It literally only takes 3 minutes to do this. I will give this a five star only because the price offsets any perceived problems with the gear. The starter works like a charm, quiet, smooth and effective, can't complain for $60.

Great little starter
Installed on John Deere sabre 1742hs. Works good starts the tractor. Great deal too. Only reason for 4 stars is the plastic gear. I've only started tractor few times and that plastic gear is already pretty warm. Will replace gear with steel one
