Exceptional Quality and Performance!
The H&S Whetstone Knife Sharpening Stone is an excellent product that has transformed my knife sharpening experience. The 3000/8000 grit combination is perfect for both refining a dull blade and achieving a razor-sharp edge. The 3000 grit side is great for honing and restoring the edge, while the 8000 grit provides that fine, polished finish that makes knives feel brand new.I love that it’s easy to use, and the stone is sturdy, with a non-slip base that keeps it steady while sharpening. It’s also been very durable, showing no signs of wear after multiple uses. I’ve used it on a variety of kitchen knives, and the results are consistently impressive—sharp, precise blades every time.Overall, this is a top-quality whetstone at a great price. It’s perfect for both beginners and more experienced users who want a professional finish on their knives. Highly recommended!

Works well
Allows you to refinish your favourite expensive kitchen knives that have lost their cutting edge, can be a bit messy in use but does give a very good edge and will, within reason, recover and maintain most cutting edges. As you will be aware a sharp blade is easier, quicker and oddly safer to work with as it’s easier to control allowing you to concentrate on the task.Easy to follow instructions are enclosed, if you are familiar with using an oilstone for your chisels etc you will find it very easy to use, the enclosed rubber surround is also excellent as a base while using the whetstone to hone blades.YouTube has videos for those that feel they may need a bit of extra guidance either before or post purchase.

Sharpened my first knife with this
Keep in mind that people recommend having two whetstones that you can rub together to flatten them for better sharpening characteristics, but the stones in this pack are attached. I found it didn't cause too much bother but keep in mind.My knife is decently sharp after using these stones for the first time. They seem a little soft, however, as some chips came loose from hitting the side with the handle where I got a little excited with my sharpening motions. However, it's a relatively cheap and functional pair of stones that will do the job as advertised. You might want to consider 1000-2000 grit stone(s) too, I found it took quick a while to bring a new edge to my knife, and apparently lower grits are better for creating the edge by removing more metal. Otherwise these can do the job fine.

The sharpenstone
The shortmindstone is absolutely brilliant. I am surprised I could. Sharples and gives a very smooth edge. It is well made. I like the grippy bass. Keep up the good work, Mr. titley.

It dents easily
The whetstone does the work fine, but it is not going to be mirror polished as some other comments have suggested. It is also made of a soft material, probably aluminium oxide that wears off quickly. I tried to sharpen a card scraper's edge and it left a dent immediately. For such price I have no complaint, but I guess I would need to buy a better whetstone, probably diamond or ceramic whetstone which would last longer.

A welcome surprise
I bought this on a whim as I was shocked at how much it was going to cost me to buy some new scalpel blades for my hobby knife. Now before i go into this, The stone will not get you razor sharp blades (at least not when I tried). It will however sharpen up your dull knifes very well. I first of all tried to sharpen up my now very dull hobby knife blades. Getting the right angles for this is quite important so if your knives are not getting sharper, it is probably due to the angle at which you are moving the knife across the stone. The hobby knife blades came out well and are cutting much better. Not as well as new scalpel blades would but this is much cheaper in the long run. I got addicted to sharpening my knives and moved on to the kitchen knives. This was where things got much better (Probably because this is what the stone is actually for). My wife tried the knives the next day and found that her usual go to knife (she only uses our small knives) was cutting much better than usual. It's still early days as I am still getting used to the motion across the stone needed to get the best results but our knives have gone from squashing tomatoes to cutting them cleanly again.
