XSCORPION (CB300L) 300 Amp Circuit Breaker with Manual Reset and LED Status Indicator, Black

Appears to be what I need. I have not load tested it yet, when I do I will edit this. Not 5 stars because for 300a rated, you -should be- using a minimum of 2 #2ga wire's or 2/0 wire. The lugs on this breaker are not large enough to easily accomidate the connectors on #2 or 1/0 or 2/0 wire. This makes me worried about a huge voltage loss and/or heat from one side to the other under load.

So far is has worked well, very limited use so far. I put this on my truck for a custom winch install and 300amps is what the winch can use up to. I have only used it for testing as I have not needed to use my winch yet but I like that I can click it off to cut power and easily click it back on! Provided it works when I really need it to, it will be a good buy!

Good breaker.. There is a small piece of plastic on the underside that hides the trace/wire for the LED. Make sure you're careful when mounting as this plastic likes to fall off A dab of silicone or clue would have kept this in place. It had fallen off in transit.

Updated on 12/8/15It held find since my initial review, at 24v pulling 100amps dc through it. I've downgraded it to two stars because now instead of holding strong at 80 charging amps @24vdc charging pass through, it would only hold at 40amps and tripped. The unit was very hot to the touch. I'm pulling this guy out and am going to order a Blue Sea Systems 187 Series 200amp surface mount breaker. It's specs appear heavier duty and here on amazon has a 5 star rating with rave reviews. I'll pay the $85.00 for a reliable piece of equipment. This scorpion breaker will probably be wonderful for car stereo systems - but is in my opinion, Not what you need for a substantial battery bank with an inverter.It's a reasonably well built but light duty circuit breaker. My personal opinion is that there is no way this thing is solid enough to handle 300 DC amps under any circumstances. For giggles, I bought one to put into my solar power system's positive line. It seems to have run fine as 40-60 DC amps have been pulled through it for the past week as I've been pulling loads off my battery bank. Due to low sunshine, I turned on my inverter's shore power charging function to recharge my batteries... about 5 minutes later I walked back to inspect the progress and saw everything shut down. The breaker had thrown itself and was very warm to the touch. My inverter charger was pushing approx 100 dc amps (24v) through this device on the positive side when it blew. I throttled the charging max % back to about 80 dc amps and the breaker held for several hours as the bank charged up. So, I can attest that it held for weeks below 60 dc amps, at least hours at 80 dc amps and tripped within minutes around 100 dc amps being pushed into it. I'll do an update if pulling 100+ amps through (instead of pushing while charging) makes a difference. Id' expect the plastic shell and mounting bolts to have a little heavier duty feeling to them - they feel light weight and the performance appears to correspond to that observation as well... I didn't even come close to getting 300amps through it. I will probably have to go with a good ole in-line fuse to accomplish my goal.

I ordered and received this XSCORPION (CB300L) 300 Amp Circuit Breaker with Manual Reset and LED Status Indicator for a start booster project for my truck. It is a little light weight and I probably should have gone with Marine grade since I live on the coast and the air is always wet and salty. The case feels light weight and it is quite small. The manual trip works, for whatever that means and I will have to just assume it is ready to protect my system from a dead short. I'll give it three stars and if I find a reason to return to change the review rating, I'll give an update.

It looks cool and it does work. However it feels flimsy to me and it did not come w instructions, so I wound up installing it backwards so that the LED was on the battery side instead of the output side. But I flipped it around and it worked. I chose to keep it.

Works as advertised. No more fuse replacements or small sparks. I love that idea...A bit smaller than I imagined for 300 amps so, my 0 guage ring terminals were quite a tight fit but, I got em on there...Great Product
