Keeps the hands nice and toasty
All in all a pretty good glove. The little elastic loop that goes around your wrist make these ideal for times when you need to keep taking a glove on and off but never wanting to put it in your pocket. For example walking the dag when you might need to fish a plastic bag out of your pocket if you know what I mean. They fit well and are very warm. I've worn them down to about -5C and they were fine at that temperature. I don't think you'd want to wear them much above +5C though, they soon start to feel too warm.Seem very well made as you'd expect from Berghaus. Good quality materials put together well.

Good value gloves let down by palm material
Mixed feelings on this one.The Good:Kept my hands warm to about -10C (Berghaus' excellent polartec inners fit well inside to provide more insulation beyond this)Reasonably waterproof (Outer layer stayed dry for about 2 hours in wet snow then became damp , but the inside stayed dry)Good design (wrist retainers, attachment points, finger pull all well executed with good attention to detail)Quality construction (stitching good)Good value (the price is at the low end for mountain gloves, but the quality is good)The Bad:One thing - materials. In particular the material used to reinforce the palm area. After only 2 days skiing, holding poles, skis on shoulder etc. the material wore away at fingers.See attached picture. This is forcing me to return the item and the nature of the issue is such that I will not be looking for a replacement.Disappointing.

Waterproof and windproof glove option
Expensive but worth the money if you're considering spending long periods of activity in wet or snow conditions. They fitted as expected and whilst not the warmest gloves they are waterproof and windproof which suits me as I'm reasonably active. If you do suffer from the cold I suggest going up a size and adding additional glove liners.

Poor quality material which perishes even when barely worn.
I purchased these gloves three years ago and they have barely been worn, spending most of the time in my jacket pocket. Despite this, the suede area on the thumb has perished revealing the white lining beneath. I have only ever worn the gloves against the cold and have never used them for climbing or skiing. I contacted Berghaus who simply stated they were out of guarantee and there was nothing they could do. I am very disappointed with the quality of this product, especially given the cost. The material is clearly of poor quality, as was the customer service from Berghaus, especially considering other brands offer a lifetime guarantee on their products (for the original purchaser). I've previously been a lifelong purchaser of Berghaus products but will look elsewhere from now on.

Look good, but warmth doesn't last long!!
I bough these one basis of being warm and waterproof, however after just a couple of winter I found the warmth of the lining to completely warn out rendering them to have no warmth whatsoever, They seem good at first but the lining won't last more than a couple of years!!

The gloves look great but not as warm as they should be for ...
The gloves look great but not as warm as they should be for the price. I've had warmer gloves for half the price from so-called lesser brands.
