This stuff works!!!!
I was having nitrite readings of .25 ppm and nothing was helping, after a couple weeks of daily water changes with that reading always coming back the next day I was desperate to get that trace amount of nitrite gone. Used this yesterday after a water change and I’m happy to report after testing today nitrites are down to 0ppm!! If you are having a similar issue I highly recommend this stuff combined with their special blend, works like a charm!

... for the Special Blend since I am doing as recommended and using both together) Alright so this just came ...
(This is the same review for the Special Blend since I am doing as recommended and using both together)Alright so this just came today. Will update as my cycle goes on after adding it (today).(Special Blend)The smell. Oh my god the smell. I read the reviews opened outside and was confused why I didn’t smell anything. So I took a whiff. Then I fetched for awhile. It smells what I imagine rotting corpses on a high way smell like. The smell is legit. Why I gave it 4 stars. I’ll be using this with Nite Out II also since everything I read says they go hand in hand.It says that if you put in with live animals make sure you have a TON of oxygen going in the tank. So definitely make sure you use a few air stones in your tank as I assume this sort of lowers the oxygen levels. Thus why people have killed their stock using it.I’ll report back in a few days what my tests read. I’m in the middle of cycling now (low ammonia high nitrites and nitrates) fishless cycling. I have 4 tanks going atm. However one has my axoltol so I didn’t use it in that tank.(Nite Out II)Doesnt smell, does much like what all the others are supposedly doing. Im gonna try and follow every day and read the tanks reading. RIght now I am only testing for Ammonia and nitrItes instead of nitrates, as because im cycling, it doesnt matter how high they get - yet.Day 1: (next day after putting Special Blend and Nite Out II in)Tank 1 (20gallon tall): BEFORE adding I had 0ppm Ammonia, and 1.0 of nitrites. AFTER: No changeTank 2 (5 gallon): BEFORE: .50ppm Ammonia and 1.0 NitrItes. AFTER: No ChangeTank 3 (10 gallon): BEFORE: 0 Ammonia ppm and 2.0 nitrites AFTER: No changeTank 4 (20 gallon long with an axolotl in): BEFORE: 1.0ppm Ammonia 2.0 nitrites AFTER: .50ppm Ammonia 2.0 nitritesSo, for day 1: Not much has changed. Remember, I was in the middle of cycling previously of adding too and were about around 0 ammonia for almost everything but the one tank that had a living creature in it.Day 2: nothing really changed at all. 48 hours and I haven’t seen it change.

Stinks like death
This stuff stinks like you wouldn't believe. I recommend you mix it with water outside and then pour it in the tank. Stunk my house up for hours, but the smell doesn't linger in the water. If you mix it with water outside and then pour it in your aquarium it will do wonders for the overall health of the aquarium and fish without the smell of death in your home for hours.

Saved me from New tank syndrome
I finally got my planted tank up and running and began the cycling process. My wife and kids did not understand that it would take a couple weeks and went out and got a couple fish and some pretty pricey but beautiful shrimp. Well you probably know what happened, watched the shrimp die every day. 50% water changes didn't help, bioload was too great. With all the shrimp gone and my kids' fish trying to cling to life I looked for a solution. Half the forums and posts and subreddits I visited recommended nite out. I figured the price was worth it if it works and the bottle would last forever anyway. So I started using it and continued my 25% water changes. Everything stabilized in less than a week. Now would you believe my wife needed to have a dwarf puffer? And that puffer was a terror to my kids fish? And I had to go out and buy another tank just for that tiny fish? Well those things happened. I learned from my mistakes and used nite out from the beginning along with stuffing my old filter into the new tank's pump. Now we've got two tanks running smoothly.

Helped cycle!
The media could not be loaded. Before getting my betta fish I cycled the tank (as all must do) and it was stuck in the high nitrite and nitrate phase for so long so I bought this to see if it would work. I added it daily for about four days and boom! 0ppm for ammonia, nitrite and nitrate! I now use it as maintenance for every water change! It’s also super affordable compared to other bottled bacteria. 10/10 recommend.
