Send by app functionality is deceptive
These are fun and my kids like them, we've gone through probably ten of them. But they have really deceptive advertising about the "App" right now, saying you can send images through the app, etc. It's just a camera app that you use to physically take a picture of what you've drawn, same as using the camera app on any device. So I'm marking it down to three stars because it's going to be deceptive to kids, etc. Come on, you don't need to use dirty tricks to sell these, just be honest.

Not that great product.
Another piece for wall hanging isn't snap fitting. Useless part.

Templates fit onto back- no need to carry around wall mount!
Template is held onto tablet as shown in photo. Just bought it today and it’s been great so far! Possibly update review in the future for a 5th star.

Awful design with fragile, unusable parts!
I wish I could give this zero stars. We have a Boogie Board that my kids love. I thought that this was the same one, and thought I would get a second. However, when this arrived, I quickly found out that it is a new, fragile version that is not kid-friendly at all. It is a thin, clear plastic sheet that you write on, and you slide papers in the back to make it opaque. The back tray piece that is supposed to hold the papers does not stay attached, and you have to sort of hold it together to make it usable. The pen holder is also terrible. It is a little elastic that is just too small to be helpful. This is hard to slide the pen into, especially for little hands. It is attached to the tablet with a little sticky patch that comes off if you pull too hard-- which you have to do to get the pen into it. This is an awful design. My kids really like the old design, so I'm sad to see that it can't be found anywhere.

SETTING THE RECORD STRAIGHT
I didn't purchase from Amazon and I rarely would do this but I feel like this product has received some pretty unfair reviews by people who did not know what they were buying. First and foremost, this is not a toy, it is not for toddlers and small children....if you want a toy, boogie board has lots of options out there for you but this is not one of them. This is designed to be stationary if used with wall mount base for leaving notes, taking notes, jotting measurements so on so forth....by adults and teens. SECOND, If not using the stationary base leave it attached to the wall where it is meant to be, why would you try to walk around with the wall mount on the back of it and then complain that it doesn't secure and you have to hold it in place....well yeah....because it's a bloody hanging wall mount not a backing plate. If you need to carry it around with you slide a template sheet into the back to make it more opaque and it works great.LEAVE THE WALL MOUNT ON THE WALL WHERE IT BELONGS. Do not buy this for kids, do some research for the love of god, know what you're getting , and dont leave terrible reviews for great products just because you made an impulse purchase without knowing what you were actually buying. SMH....

Do not purchase as a toy. Designed to be stationary.
I purchased 3 of these at COSTCO, who places them near the other toys and gifts. I thought these would be a great gif for kids learning to write. I don't think this model is the best for that.We had other boogie board, but these ones have some major design flaws. They come with 7 pieces, the writing board, the hanger back, a pen and holder, and 3 doublesided membrances. The back is meant to be screwed into a wall where you can use it to share home messages. The board hangs on this only by gravity and really needs some sort of magnetic or plastic tab to keep it locked into place. This the first major flaw. The 3 membranes are double-sided thin plastic covered paper similar to large playing cards. They are very fragile but do have some useful designs of Lines, Grid, Dot Grid, Planner, check list and all black. The can either be stored in the hanger which they are held in by gravity or in the back of the writing board. If stored in the hanger, they easily slide out.Let's talk about the board. The board is similar to many other boogie board products, it has the smooth front where you write with a button and even a lock feature to prevent accident erase. If you flip it over you have a place to insert each of the membranes behind 4 solid plastic tabs. None of these tabs can be flipped out of place. This is a flaw in my opinion, as makes it very difficult to change out the backs without damaging them.If you are looking at a household tool that will be stationary, this a very affordable item. If you are looking for a learning tool for children, I recommend getting one of the original designs which are very durable. My kids had two that were very durable and came with cases: https://www.amazon.com/Boogie-Board-8-5-Inch-Writing-PT01085CYAA0002/dp/B00AFPR68E/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1542814420&sr=8-5&keywords=boogie+board Note the price on Amazon for the cased models is very expensive, but we purchased ours elsewhere for under $20 with the case.

Poor design. Don't waste your money!
This is a terrible product. As the previous reviewer mentioned, it is a lot more fragile than the original BB. It comes with a wall mount that can be used to hold the three sheets that provide a template to write on. They are double sided, providing six templates including writing lines, dots, graph paper, (think math for these last two), a check list and a weekly to-do list divided out by days of the week. Sounds great, right? I was envisioning that I'd no longer have to purchase loads of graph paper for Algebra problems! While the templates DO lock into the tabs on the back of the board, the back piece that stores the pieces not being used does NOT lock onto the BB itself. Even for storage, it will not stay together. My 14yo might be able to use this holding only the front piece with the template behind it, but he'd hate using it if he had to hold both pieces together. The back piece is presumably for mounting on the wall, so there are tabs that indicate the front would fit into the back. It might work for hanging, but not for anything else (such as storage and protection of the back of the board). I gave this one star for two reasons: 1) There IS a locking switch that prevents your masterpiece or schoolwork from being unintentionally erased; and 2) there isn't an option to give it zero stars! Seriously don't waste your money.
