Quality Product. Most Energy Efficient Unit We Could Find
We chose this unit because of the advertised SEER of 32. Of course that number will vary greatly depending on the amount of sunshine it is getting. We installed it on a new small expansion to our home and I wanted to be sure I got the most solar bang for the buck. Ordering extra panels from YMGI was a bit pricy but I found a guy selling off inventory of a commercial solar company that went under and bought 3 solar panels that meet the required specs. So, I ended up not even using the YMGI panel. It is hard to know what percent of power use comes from the solar panels since its is not separately metered. But we are in Las Vegas and I suspect that this summer when our utility use is highest, especially during the day, we will get the majority of power from the solar collectors. My solar contractor was very impressed with the unit which was the first time they saw one like this. A friend of mine is a solar contractor so I hired him to install the collectors on the roof just to be sure it was done perfectly. Overall we are very happy. I may follow up in a year or so as we get more reliability experience.
